The number one wide receiver is a quarterback’s best friend. There are many talented wide receivers in the NFL that can dominate games. In a league with many pass-heavy offenses, almost all top NFL quarterbacks have a reliable No.1 guy. This article will predict the top 20 NFL wide receivers before the 2022 season. Check out the best bookmakers for betting on the NFL.

Projecting the Top-20 NFL Wide Receivers before The 2022 Regular Season

Over the past few years, the NFL has transformed into a pass-first league. The wide receiver position is now more important than ever. Many teams have a true No. One wide receiver, with some teams having to pay the price for two top-tier WRs.

Davante Adams has long been regarded as the best WR in the NFL. He won’t be receiving the ball from Aaron Rodgers and will instead be thrown to by Derek Carr as a Las Vegas Raiders member.

Cooper Kupp, the Rams’ wide receiver, had an incredible season last year. He was unstoppable during the Super Bowl. Matthew Stafford has great chemistry, and Cooper Kupp will be looking to continue last year’s record-breaking season.

There have been many talented up-and-coming talents in the NFL outside.

Justin Jefferson is already a top-flight WR after just two years.

After making the Super Bowl, Ja’Marr Chase lit up the league with his rookie season. Joe Burrow will be his man, and he will continue to push forward in his second year.

On the other hand, a few wide receivers are facing new challenges in 2022.

Tyreek Hill was sold to Miami and will not be able to catch passes from Patrick Mahomes.

Deebo Samuel, 49ers wide receiver, did it all last season, but will he be there to play this year? He is unhappy with the 49ers.

Below we will look at top NFL wide receivers and predict which WRs will have the best season in 2022.

The Top 20 NFL Wide Receivers in 2022 (11-20).

20. Mike Williams 19. Diontae Johnson 18. Tee Higgins 17. Amari Cooper 16. DK Metcalf 15. CeeDee Lamb 14. Terry McLaurin 13. DJ Moore 12. Mike Evans 11. DeAndre Hopkins

Russell Wilson’s departure has caused DK Metcalf, Seattle Seahawks WR, to drop out of the top-10 WRs, and Tyler Lockett doesn’t make it into the top-20.

DeAndre Hopkins is always a reliable target. He is now outside the top-10 WRs in 2022, with Hollywood Brown and Hopkins both getting older.

Although Mike Evans is a great WR, Brady prefer Chris Godwin. We expect Evans to have a good year, but he will not be among the top 10 WRs in terms of production for the 2022 NFL season.

Predicting the Top-10 Wide Receivers in The NFL In 2022

We now get to the best.

Several talented WRs did not make it to our top 10, including Mike Evans, DeAndre Hopkins and DK Metcalf.

Below, find out who beats them for a spot on our top-10 list.

10. AJ Brown, Philadelphia Eagles

AJ Brown, a large, muscular WR, is difficult to tackle in the open field.

Brown was part of an enormous blockbuster deal that took him from the Titans to the Eagles. Brown will be moving from a team that loves running to another team that loves running the ball, but that hasn’t stopped him from producing at an all-pro level.

Brown will be entering his fourth year with the NFL in 2022.

He had more than 1,000 yards of receiving in his first two seasons. However, he struggled to stay on the field in 2021.

Devonta Smith will be his WR partner, which will reduce the double coverage he receives from defenses. This should help to improve his outlook in Philadelphia.

Brown will have a great season in Philly and propel himself back to the top 10.

9. Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers

Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver, is among the most reliable in the league.

He is a star, and Justin Herbert, one of his top MVP picks, throws him the football.

Allen is an excellent route runner and technician. Allen has been ranked among the top five WRs for single coverage separation rates since 2017.

Allen is skilled at converting third downs and running his routes to the sticks.

8. Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Over the past two years, Tom Brady has been a fan favorite of Tampa Bay’s Chris Godwin.

His ACL was torn late in 2021, but he still managed 98 catches and 1,103 receiving yards in just 14 games.  Godwin is only 26 years old and is a skilled route runner.

Brady loves to throw short passes, and Godwin excels in creating separation in close quarters.

Godwin was on the verge of catching more than 100 passes last year. He should be able pick up where he left off in 2020. With Antonio Brown’s departure and Rob Gronkowski’s retirement, he will be busier than ever this year.

If Godwin is healthy, it’s possible that Godwin will lead the league in receptions.

7. Deebo Samuel, San Francisco 49ers

Deebo Samuel had a huge 2021 season.

He caught 77 passes on 121 targets, which gave him 1,405 receiving yards.

Samuel, unlike most NFL WRs, was also used last season as a running back by the 49ers. In 2021, he added 365 yards of rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns.

Trey Lance will become the 49ers’ starting quarterback, but it will not affect Samuel’s production.

Samuel’s biggest concern this season is whether he will actually show up to play.

The 49ers WR has vocally voiced dissatisfaction with his contract in San Francisco.

If Samuel plays in the 2022 NFL Season, it will be another great year for Kyle Shanahan’s offense.

6. Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins

Hill is unfortunate to have his QB status lowered. We were therefore forced to change Hill’s ranking on our top-10 lists.

Hill is still the fastest and most explosive WR in the league, regardless of who is throwing at him.

Since 2017, Hill has been the leader in almost every deep receiving stat for the NFL, including receptions (65), yards (2.574) and touchdowns (27)

Hill will still have a great season, but due to the QB downgrade Hill will not be a top-five performer among WRs during the 2022 NFL season.

Who will be the Top-Five NFL Wide Receivers in The 2022 Season?

5. Stefon Diggs, Buffalo Bills

Stefon Diggs is one of the most skilled route runners in the NFL.

Diggs joined the Bills in 2020 and ranks seventh in separation rate against single coverage. Diggs also ranks high in contested catch grades, grade versus man coverage, and single coverage.

Diggs is also fortunate to have Josh Allen, who is the favorite to win the NFL MVP Award at Caesars Sportsbook.

Diggs had back-to-back seasons with more than 100 receptions and more than 1,200 receiving yards for the Bills.

4. Davante Adams, Las Vegas Raiders

Davante Adams has been widely regarded as the NFL’s best WR over the past few years.

Adams would have been listed as the number two WR if he had stayed with the Packers and Aaron Rodgers.

He is, however, downgraded to QB from Rodgers to Derek Carr.

The Raiders have more weapons than the Packers, with Darren Waller at the tight end and Hunter Renfrow at the slot.

Adams’ skills should be complemented by both players, making it more difficult for defenses to find one of the top WRs in the NFL.

Adams is still one of the league’s most productive and effective wide receivers. Adams was often exposed to double or triple coverage in Green Bay, but he still remained open.

Adams is difficult to contain. He is also a great route runner. So don’t expect Adams to drop off the map.

His stats might be a little lower for the Raiders in 2022, but he will still be one of the top-five performers at WR during this season.

3. Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals

In his debut season, Ja’Marr Chase lit up the league.

Chase caught 81 passes on 127 targets in his first season for 1,455 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns.

Chase was fourth in receiving yards, third in receiving touchdowns, and third in Rec YAC/r.

As a rookie, he led the league with eight deep receiving touchdowns and was second in total deep yardage with 576.

Joe Burrow is a true star at QB. He and Chase share a history that dates back to their college days when they shared a National Championship at LSU.

Chase was an important reason the Bengals could reach the Super Bowl last year.

We predict Chase will have a better season in his second season and be a top-three receiving receiver in 2022.

2. Cooper Kupp Los Angeles Rams

Cooper Kupp was the best WR of 2021.

He won the triple crown last year and ranked first in receiving yards, receptions, and receiving touchdowns.

Kupp is an expert on coverages and how to set up defenders. Check out the best new bookmakers for betting on the NFL.

He will he be able to repeat his 2021 season in the 2022 season?

Unlikely.

Kupp will enjoy another great season, with Stafford under center and McVay calling plays. This still makes Kupp one of our top-two WRs for 2022.

The NFL’s Best Wide Receiver in 2022 Will Be…

1. Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings

Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings’ wide receiver, will have the 2022 NFL’s best season.

Jefferson’s rookie year saw him receive 88 receptions for 1,400 yards receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns.

He was able to continue that feat with 108 receptions, 1,616 receiving yards, and ten receiving touchdowns in his second campaign.

Jefferson is the epitome of a big-play threat. He is not only a great catcher of the under routes but also a huge threat deep down.

He was second in receiving yards last season.

He averages 3.55 yards per route, which ranks second, and 21 explosive receptions over 15 yards or more are tied for first.

Jefferson is still a beast and has been incredible in his first two seasons.

Jefferson will make another leap in Year 3.
