Monday Night Football brings a strong NFC matchup to Lumen Field when the Chicago Bears visit the Seattle Seahawks.
Chicago enters 5-2 after beating New England 30-24, while Seattle is 4-3 following an impressive 20-3 victory over Kansas City. Both teams have playoff aspirations, and Seattle enters as a narrow three-point home favorite.
Matchup: Chicago Bears at Seattle Seahawks Date: Monday, November 2, 2026 Kickoff: 8:15 PM ET TV: ESPN Venue: Lumen Field — Seattle, Washington Tickets: As low as $264 Point Spread: Seattle -3 Over/Under: 46.5
The Seattle -3 spread means the Seahawks must win by four points or more to cover. If Seattle wins by exactly three points, the spread normally results in a push. Chicago +3 covers if the Bears win outright or lose by one or two points.
The Bears have won four of their last five games and arrive in Seattle with one of the NFL’s most balanced offenses.
Quarterback Caleb Williams has completed 71 percent of his passes for 1,020 yards, five touchdowns and only one interception in his appearances this season. His efficiency has been a major part of Chicago’s improvement.
Against New England, Williams repeatedly attacked downfield, completing eight passes of at least 20 yards in Chicago’s 30-24 victory.
Rookie receiver Luther Burden III has quickly become one of his most explosive weapons. Burden leads Chicago with 491 receiving yards, while Rome Odunze has added 381 yards.
The running game gives the Bears another dimension.
D’Andre Swift has rushed for 476 yards and seven touchdowns, while Kyle Monangai has contributed 324 yards while averaging 5.4 yards per carry.
Chicago also made a significant defensive upgrade this week by acquiring three-time All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, giving the Bears another disruptive interior presence heading into a matchup with Seattle.
Seattle’s defense may be the biggest reason the Seahawks deserve to be favored at home.
The Seahawks held Kansas City to three points last Sunday while controlling possession and allowing their offense to run 69 plays. Seattle finished with 410 yards and converted 11 of 16 third downs.
Quarterback Sam Darnold completed 20 of 28 passes for 257 yards and one touchdown against Kansas City. He has thrown for 1,290 yards and eight touchdowns this season, although his eight interceptions remain a concern.
Seattle’s biggest offensive weapon is clearly Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
Smith-Njigba caught nine passes for 150 yards and a touchdown against Kansas City. He now has 58 receptions for 867 yards and eight touchdowns, producing six 100-yard games through Seattle’s first seven contests.
The Seahawks also strengthened their offensive line by acquiring eight-time Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson, an important addition before facing Chicago’s upgraded defensive front.
Prop availability and numbers vary by sportsbook, so these are target numbers to consider if offered near these ranges.
Smith-Njigba has become one of the NFL’s most productive receivers.
He averages nearly 124 receiving yards per game and remains Darnold’s clear No. 1 option.
Prediction: Jaxon Smith-Njigba — 108 receiving yards
Seattle’s defense presents a difficult challenge, but Williams has Burden, Odunze and Colston Loveland available to attack different areas of the field.
Chicago should need to throw throughout the fourth quarter.
Prediction: Caleb Williams — 248 passing yards
Swift has been Chicago’s primary back and gives the Bears an opportunity to prevent Seattle from making the offense one-dimensional.
Expect Chicago to keep him involved even if Seattle builds an early lead.
Prediction: D’Andre Swift — 73 rushing yards
Darnold surpassed this number against Kansas City, but Chicago’s defensive front should become more dangerous with Simmons added to the rotation.
Seattle may also lean on its defense and running game rather than asking Darnold to throw 35-plus times.
Prediction: Sam Darnold — 231 passing yards
Williams’ accuracy and ball security have been excellent. Protecting him against Seattle’s pass rush will be critical.
Burden leads Chicago in receiving yards and gives Williams an explosive yards-after-catch weapon.
Smith-Njigba is the most dangerous offensive player in this matchup. Chicago must prevent him from repeatedly winning in the intermediate areas.
Darnold played efficiently against Kansas City, but his eight interceptions remain the statistic Chicago’s defense will try to exploit.
Chicago must protect Williams and establish Swift early. Seattle’s defense becomes considerably more dangerous if the Bears constantly face third-and-long.
Defensively, Chicago’s biggest objective is slowing Smith-Njigba. Allowing him another 100-plus-yard night could put tremendous pressure on the Bears’ secondary.
Seattle needs Darnold to protect the football. The Seahawks have enough defense and skill-position talent to win without taking unnecessary risks.
The battle in the trenches will also be fascinating after Seattle added Nelson and Chicago acquired Simmons.
The Seattle -3 spread reflects how evenly matched these teams appear.
Seattle has the home-field advantage and is coming off a dominant defensive performance, but Chicago has won four of five and possesses the stronger rushing attack.
Because a Seattle victory by exactly three creates a push, taking the Bears at +3 provides some protection in what looks like a one-possession game.
The 46.5 total looks slightly low. Both quarterbacks have explosive receivers, and Chicago has scored at least 30 points in consecutive games.
Seattle’s defense creates problems for Williams, but Chicago’s balanced offense keeps the Bears within striking distance.
Smith-Njigba produces another big game, while Swift and Burden answer for Chicago.
Ultimately, Lumen Field and Seattle’s defensive front provide the narrow difference in a close Monday night matchup.
