The Indianapolis Colts return home Sunday afternoon looking to rebound from a difficult road loss when they host the winless Tennessee Titans in an AFC South matchup at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Indianapolis enters 2-3 after falling 34-22 at Pittsburgh, while Tennessee dropped to 0-5 following a 26-3 home loss to Houston. The Colts have also won six consecutive games in the series, giving Indianapolis another significant historical advantage entering Week 6.
Indianapolis is favored by seven points, while the 44.5-point total suggests oddsmakers expect the Colts to control the game without necessarily producing a shootout.
Matchup: Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts Date: Sunday, October 18, 2026 Kickoff: 1:00 PM ET TV: FOX Venue: Lucas Oil Stadium — Indianapolis, Indiana Tickets: As low as $29 Point Spread: Indianapolis -7 Over/Under: 44.5
The Indianapolis -7 spread means the Colts must win by eight points or more for an Indianapolis spread bet to cash.
If Indianapolis wins by exactly seven, the wager normally results in a push. Tennessee +7 covers if the Titans win outright or lose by six points or fewer.
Indianapolis moved the football well enough against Pittsburgh to win, but repeatedly failed to finish drives.
The Colts reached goal-to-go situations several times yet scored only one touchdown on three red-zone trips, settling for field goals as Pittsburgh eventually pulled away. Indianapolis dropped to 2-3 with the loss.
Quarterback Daniel Jones completed 24 of 44 passes for 267 yards against Pittsburgh without throwing an interception. Through five games, Jones has thrown for 1,021 yards, but only three touchdowns against four interceptions.
Running back Jonathan Taylor remains the player Indianapolis should build its offense around.
Taylor has 398 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 101 carries. He was held to 45 yards against Pittsburgh, but he had rushed for at least 68 yards in each of Indianapolis’ first four games and scored six touchdowns over that stretch.
The matchup against Tennessee offers an excellent opportunity for Taylor and the Colts to get back on track.
Tennessee’s season has quickly reached a difficult point.
The Titans have lost all five games, and their offense produced only 187 total yards in the 26-3 loss to Houston.
Quarterback Cam Ward completed 23 of 36 passes for 170 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. He was also sacked four times and faced pressure throughout the afternoon.
For the season, Ward has thrown for 896 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 63.2 percent of his passes.
The Titans have also struggled to establish their running game.
Tony Pollard has 273 rushing yards on 68 carries, averaging four yards per attempt with one touchdown.
Tennessee was averaging only 89 rushing yards per game entering the Houston matchup, ranking near the bottom of the NFL.
The Titans’ biggest problem has been combining offensive mistakes with poor field position. Two turnovers against Houston contributed to another game in which the defense kept things manageable early before eventually wearing down.
Prop availability and numbers vary by sportsbook, so these are target numbers to consider if offered near these ranges.
Taylor has averaged nearly 80 rushing yards per game this season despite being limited to 45 at Pittsburgh.
Indianapolis should be able to give him 20-plus touches if it plays from ahead.
Prediction: Jonathan Taylor — 94 rushing yards
Ward has averaged fewer than 180 passing yards per game through five weeks and hasn’t produced a 200-yard performance this season.
Indianapolis should be able to pressure him if Tennessee falls into obvious passing situations.
Prediction: Cam Ward — 183 passing yards
Downs leads Indianapolis with 249 receiving yards and remains one of Jones’ most dependable options.
Against a Tennessee defense likely to focus heavily on Taylor, Downs should find opportunities underneath.
Prediction: Josh Downs — 61 receiving yards
Indianapolis scored 30 points against Washington before producing 22 in Pittsburgh despite repeated red-zone failures.
Better red-zone execution against Tennessee should push the Colts into the upper 20s.
Prediction: Indianapolis — 27 points
Taylor is the most important offensive player in this matchup. If Indianapolis establishes him early, Tennessee’s defense could spend another afternoon on the field for extended stretches.
Jones threw for 267 yards without an interception against Pittsburgh. The next step is turning those yards into touchdowns.
Ward continues to show flashes, but the Titans need more explosive plays and better protection around their young quarterback.
Simmons remains Tennessee’s defensive centerpiece. The Titans need him disrupting Indianapolis’ interior blocking if they are going to prevent Taylor from controlling the game.
Indianapolis needs to finish drives.
The Colts generated enough opportunities against Pittsburgh but repeatedly settled for field goals. Against an 0-5 opponent, those possessions need to become touchdowns.
Tennessee must protect Ward and establish Pollard. The Titans cannot ask Ward to consistently convert third-and-long situations behind an offensive line that allowed four sacks against Houston.
Turnovers are another major factor. Tennessee’s mistakes have repeatedly changed games, while Indianapolis enters with a minus-six turnover differential.
Whichever team avoids giving away short fields should have a significant advantage.
The Indianapolis -7 spread requires the Colts to win by at least eight points to cover.
That is a meaningful number for a 2-3 team, but Tennessee’s offensive struggles make laying the touchdown easier to justify.
The Titans have scored 58 total points through five games, an average of only 11.6 per contest, and are coming off their worst offensive performance of the season.
Indianapolis has problems of its own, but Taylor, Jones and the Colts’ offensive weapons should create substantially more scoring opportunities.
The 44.5 total looks slightly high unless Tennessee produces its best offensive performance of the season.
Indianapolis gets Taylor heavily involved from the opening possession and makes life easier for Jones with manageable third downs.
Tennessee keeps the game competitive early behind its defense, but the lack of consistent offensive production eventually becomes too much to overcome.
The Colts pull away in the second half and extend their winning streak over Tennessee to seven games.
