The Indianapolis Colts and Washington Commanders take the NFL international stage Sunday morning at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
Both teams enter at 1-2 after earning much-needed Week 3 victories. Indianapolis defeated Houston 19-17, while Washington knocked off Seattle 33-31.
Indianapolis enters as a 3.5-point favorite, while the 47.5-point total suggests oddsmakers expect considerably more offense than many traditional international games.
Matchup: Indianapolis Colts vs. Washington Commanders Date: Sunday, October 4, 2026 Kickoff: 9:30 AM ET Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium — London, England Tickets: As low as $60 Point Spread: Indianapolis -3.5 Over/Under: 47.5
Both defenses have struggled through the opening three weeks, creating opportunities for Daniel Jones and the Indianapolis passing game as well as Washington’s talented group of offensive playmakers.
Indianapolis finally broke into the win column with a 19-17 victory over Houston.
Daniel Jones completed 24 of 36 passes for 235 yards and one touchdown, but turnovers remain a concern. Jones threw an interception and lost two fumbles against the Texans.
Through three games, he has thrown for 611 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions.
The good news is that Washington’s secondary has been vulnerable. The Commanders have allowed approximately 280 passing yards per game, making this a promising matchup for Indianapolis receivers Josh Downs, Tyler Warren and Keenan Allen.
Downs enters as Indianapolis’ leading receiver with 186 yards, while Warren continues to develop into one of Jones’ most dependable options.
Jonathan Taylor remains the centerpiece of the offense with 258 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
If the Colts protect the football, they should have opportunities to move the ball consistently.
Washington enters London with momentum after beating Seattle 33-31.
Marcus Mariota played well in place of the injured Jayden Daniels, completing 19 of 31 passes for 183 yards and three touchdowns without an interception.
Terry McLaurin also delivered his best game of the young season, catching six passes for 77 yards and a touchdown.
Daniels’ availability remains one of the biggest storylines entering the matchup. Washington expects him to travel and practice in London while continuing to evaluate his recovery from an elbow injury.
Regardless of who starts, Washington should have opportunities against an Indianapolis defense that has allowed more than 400 total yards per game through three weeks.
The Commanders must establish the run, protect the quarterback and continue getting McLaurin involved downfield.
Jones completed 24 passes against Houston and has cleared 20 completions in each of his last two games.
Washington has struggled badly against opposing quarterbacks, which could encourage Indianapolis to attack through the air.
Warren, Downs and Taylor give Jones several reliable short and intermediate options.
Prediction: Daniel Jones — 23 completions
Downs has 14 receptions for 186 yards through three games.
His 62-yard average sits just below this number, but Washington’s struggling secondary makes this an appealing matchup.
Indianapolis should give Downs several opportunities from the slot and on intermediate routes.
Prediction: Josh Downs — 72 receiving yards
Warren caught nine passes for 55 yards on 10 targets against Houston.
That target volume is encouraging.
If Washington generates pressure, Jones could once again rely on Warren underneath as a security blanket.
Prediction: Tyler Warren — 54 receiving yards
McLaurin broke through with six catches for 77 yards and a touchdown against Seattle.
Indianapolis has struggled defending the pass, and McLaurin remains Washington’s most dangerous receiving weapon regardless of which quarterback starts.
Prediction: Terry McLaurin — 68 receiving yards
Jones has a favorable matchup but must eliminate the turnovers that nearly cost Indianapolis against Houston.
Taylor has 258 rushing yards and four touchdowns through three games. His ability to control the game could make things easier for Jones.
If Daniels cannot return, Mariota will again be asked to direct the offense. His three-touchdown performance against Seattle showed Washington can remain productive with him under center.
McLaurin is capable of creating explosive plays against an Indianapolis secondary that has surrendered significant passing production.
Indianapolis must protect the football. Jones’ three turnovers against Houston prevented the Colts from taking control despite moving the ball effectively.
The Colts should also attack Washington through the air, where the Commanders have been much more vulnerable than against the run.
Washington needs offensive balance.
The Commanders should test Indianapolis’ run defense early while using McLaurin to stretch the field.
Red-zone execution and turnovers could ultimately determine which team leaves London at 2-2.
This matchup has the potential to produce points.
Both defenses have struggled, while each offense showed improvement in Week 3.
Indianapolis has an advantage because its quarterback situation is settled, while Washington continues evaluating Daniels.
However, Mariota showed against Seattle that Washington can still score without its starting quarterback.
The Colts should have success throwing the football, but Washington has enough offensive weapons to keep the game close.
Indianapolis appears to have the slightly more favorable matchup.
Jones should find opportunities against Washington’s secondary, while Taylor provides the Colts with an established running game capable of controlling possession.
Washington should answer with McLaurin and an offense coming off a 33-point performance.
Expect a competitive game into the fourth quarter, with Indianapolis eventually making one more scoring drive.
