TJ Watt is still waiting for more information about Sunday’s pectoral injury, but there’s strong evidence that he wonโt need surgery and wonโt end his season. Check out our top football betting strategies.
Watt is expected to return in possibly six weeks. If this happens, he will be placed on the injury reserve. If this happens, Watt would need to miss at least four games to be eligible for return.
The steelers will be very disappointed to lose the reigning defensive player of the year. After Sunday’s victory, defensive tackle Cam Heyward was glowing about Watt.
We definitely benefited from T.J.’s presence. He’s a leader and the defensive player of the year. It doesn’t matter how long it takes for other guys to step up. Alex (Highsmith), did a great job today. Malik (Jones) and Jamir(Jones) follow suit. There was a lot more to it. We rallied around him, and we’ll all be ready when he returns.”
The Steelers defense was impressive because of Watt on Sunday as they upset the Cincinnati Bengals.
With Watt, the Steelers can stay in games; without Watt, the season could be over; he is that important and good.
The Steelers still have massive offensive issues, and they did next to nothing on offense on Sunday. This is a team that needs to move the ball on the ground and play suffocating defense to have a chance to win. They need a healthy Watt to do that.
If Watt misses six weeks, the Steelers will have to find ways to win a couple of games without Watt to have a shot to make the playoffs. Can they? While it’s doubtful Head Coach Mike Tomlin is a very good coach and if he can find a way to get three wins out of the next six game the Steelers could have a shot.
