Week 8 gets underway with an interconference clash of two teams most people would expect to be better than what we have seen down in the Sunshine State. On Thursday night football, the
Baltimore Ravens will be on the road to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Although Baltimore beat Cleveland 23-20 at their home on Sunday, they could not cover the 6.5-point spread. Tampa Bay’s offensive struggles continued as they lost 21-3 to Carolina on Sunday. They were a 13-point favorite. The Ravens hold a 4-2 lead in the regular season series and have won the last four meetings. This includes a 20-12 win at home in their most recent matchup, December 16, 2018.
The Ravens are 26 th in league passing offense, averaging only 189.7 yards per week through the air. They rank fifth in rushing offense at 156.3 yards per game. Baltimore ranks sixth in scoring offense, scoring 25.9 points per game. They are 21 first in scoring defense, allowing 23 points per match. Lamar Jackson has been 121 of 197 passing 1,397 yards with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions. Although he leads the team in carries with 66 for 510 yards and two scores, he has been sacked fourteen times. Kenyan Drake (42 carries for 189 yards and TD), Justice Hill (24) carries for 151 yards, J.K. Dobbins (35) carries for 123 yards and TD, respectively) and Gus Edwards (16 carries for 66 yards, two TD, have all had a part in the season’s run game. Mark Andrews is the leader of the team with 39 receptions, 455 yards, and five scores for the year. Rashod Bateman (15 receptions for 285 yards, two TD), Devin Duvernay (20 catches for 282 yards and three TD) as well as rookie tight end Isaiah Likely (10 grabs of 104 yards) all surpass the 100-yard mark in receiving yardage. Justin Tucker has made 19 of his 20 extra point attempts, and 14 of 15 field goals with a long 56.
