Bears vs Patriots Preview
The Bears (2-4) opened Week 6 with a disappointing loss to Washington on ” Thursday Night Football.” The game exposed the Bears’ weaknesses on both sides of the football. The Patriots (3-3), won their second consecutive win over the Cleveland Browns, which was enough to bring them back to.500. The Patriots hot streak has been spurred by rookie quarterback Bailey Zappe.
You can see the statistics, but you only had to watch last Thursday’s home loss to Washington (12-7), to see how bad things are for Chicago’s offense. The Bears beat the Commanders by a large margin (391-2114). They also ran the ball well (237 yards on 37 runs), but the majority of their production was wasted as they went 0-for-3 red zone, lost the ball twice and only managed one touchdown.
Chicago holds the No. 2 ranked rushing offense in the NFL (170.7 yards per game). However, the passing attack ranks last at 122.8 yards/per game. To be successful in today’s NFL, you must throw the ball. The Bears are 28th in total offense (293.5 yards per game) and 31st in scoring (15.5 points per game).
Although it’s unfair to assign all the blame to quarterback Justin Fields in this case, he hasn’t made as much progress in his second season as many expected. The story with Fields is pretty similar: he shows glimpses of talent but cannot seem to bring it all together over the course of a single game. He is still looking for consistency from week to week.

New England Patriots Betting Tips
New England has won two straight games, and it did so despite having to rely on a rookie third-string quarterback. The Patriots’ biggest issue right now is whether Mac Jones should be given the starting job after Bailey Zappe performed so well. At this point, Jones is expected to be the starter after missing two games with an ankle injury. But, one thing is certain about Belichick: he keeps his cards close.
It’s a valid question, however, considering New England is now 2-0 with Zappe starting, beating Detroit and Cleveland by combined scores of 67-15. Zappe was 41-for 55 for 497 yards, with three touchdowns (and an interception) in those games. Jones completed 66% of his passes, with two scores and five interceptions. This is not a quarterback controversy. However, if Jones struggles and gets the call, it will be interesting for Belichick to see how patient he shows. Zappe has proven he’s capable, even though it was a small sample.
Who will play QB? If it’s Zappe this game will be a blowout as Zappe is better than Jones. If the patriots start Jones then this game is a crap shoot at the Patriots -7.5. I will take the Patriots no matter who starts as Belichick has a history of shutting down young quarterbacks and he will confuse Fields.
