Eagles vs Cowboys Preview
The 13-1 Eagles will be looking to extend their five-game winning streak at Jerry’s World as they face the 10-4 Cowboys in the most important game on the Week 16 slate. The matchup Saturday afternoon could lose some of its shine due to QB Jalen Hurts, who is expected to miss the game with a right shoulder injury. Although Nick Sirianni is yet to rule out Hurts, there is a strong chance that Hurts will miss his first game of this season.
Dallas is trying to rebound from a 17-point blown lead in the third quarter against Jacksonville.
In Week 15, Philadelphia beat Chicago despite a poor performance from Jalen Hurts. The Eagles started slowly, scoring only 10 points in the first half against a Bears defense that ranks last (+0.102) in EPA/play. Hurts, an outstanding football player, threw two interceptions in the first half. These were his fourth and fifth picks for the season. Philadelphia’s offense prevailed in the final 30 minutes, scoring a five-point road win.
Can Minshew keep the Eagles offense alive with Jalen Hurts out? Minshew is arguably the league’s best backup. With a dominant offensive line and running game, and an elite receiving corps, Minshew could turn heads with a strong performance. The Jaguars’ offense scored 27 second-half touchdowns causing the Dallas’ defense to have the worst game of its season so far. Minshew must limit his mistakes to keep the Eagles in contention. Minshew made his first start last season against the Cowboys in Week 18. Philadelphia chose to rest Hurts, and other starters, instead. Minshew threw just 186 yards in Philadelphia’s 51-26 defeat. He had a 2:1 TD-to-INT ratio and a 51.1 QBR.
The Eagles are still a formidable team with Minshew at the helm. They have so many weapons that Minshew should have a solid game. A solid game will not be enough to win against what should be an inspired Cowboys team. To win Minshew will have to make some big plays.

Dallas Cowboys Betting Tips
Can the Dallas defense rebound after allowing Trevor Lawrence to throw for over 300 yards and four touchdowns? Dallas is still the league’s third-best defense in terms of EPA/play (-0.088EPA), and it matches up well against the Philadelphia offense which leads the NFC in EPA/play (+0.135). The Cowboys’ defense was impressive in Week 6, as they sacked Hurts four more times, despite the Eagles having PFF’s No.1 pass-blocking grade (82.3).
