These two teams started the season as two of the favorites to make a run at the Super Bowl. So far this season, both teams have been underwhelming. The Chargers are facing a dynamic rushing attack on Sunday night so that they have to step it up on the defensive side of the ball if they hold any hopes for pulling off the win. Injuries have hurt the ability of Justin Herbert to stretch the field vertically Wide receiver Keenan Allen has only played in two games this season, and Mike Williams (ankle) is about to miss his second game because of injury. Allen is still on the injury report and is officially listed as questionable for Sunday night’s contest. Wide receiver Josh Palmer had eight receptions for 106 yards last week, but he is the only real downfield threat for the Los Angeles offense. Limited weapons and a rib injury have affected Herbert’s ability to put points on the board for the Chargers.

The 49ers had lost two consecutive games until last week’s domination of the Rams, but where are the Niners playing better or are the Rames just a bad football team?
