As we head down the home stretch of the 2022 season, it’s time to separate the best from the rest. Many new faces are on this list, and guys like Geno Smith, Jalen Hurts, and Tua all have much to prove. So far this season, they have all been outstanding, but my money is on Mahomes, Allen, and Burrow to end the season as the top three quarterbacks. if you want to bet on the NFL, it’s time to check out our best football betting strategies.
Herbert is in his third season and has led the NFL in 50+ yard distance completions since 2020. Defenders cannot relax as the next one could sail past your head. Herbert’s performance against the Chiefs was exceptional, with an average of 9.3 yards per attempt. This battle lasted until the last minute and led to their third loss in three consecutive weeks.
Herbert needs to be more consistent and throw the ball better on short to intermediate routes.
Garoppolo’s second chance at San Francisco is off to a strong start. Jimmy G is on track to bring the 49ers to the playoffs in a contract year. Although he isn’t the most talented quarterback, the 30-year-old is an effective player. Garoppolo has thrown interceptions at a career-low rate.
Garoppolo is playing some of the best football he has ever played, even though he lost his job as a starting quarterback through no fault of his ownat the start of the season.
Jackson, one of the most dangerous running quarterback threats in football, is poised for another great season on the ground. Although the Ravens have experienced some poor luck, most of their problems are due to the pass defense. Jackson isn’t immune to the blame. He’s throwing interceptions at an almost career-high rate and his completion rate has taken some hit. He’s still the Ravens’ best offensive player, except for Mark Andrews, who has been injured. Jackson has been solid but not MVP-level in 2022. The issue is the lack of weapons in Baltimore and not Jackson. It’s kind of like having an airplane with no wings.
He’s still doing his thing, even at age 45. Brady might not be posting video game numbers, but it’s difficult to say he has had a bad game this season. He’s also not hurting his team. While there are some errors, it isn’t like he’s throwing the game away by making mistakes. Brady faces a difficult matchup against the Saints, who he has only 2-2 against since joining the Bucs. This is issue in Tampa Bay is not a Tom Brady issue as the injuries and age of this team are the issue. Tom Brady is still Tom Brady.
Allen led the charge for many weeks but has been slipping in our NFL QB rankings lately due to recent red zone interceptions. Allen is a great runner/passer, but we haven’t seen him inat his best for a few weeks. Allen must have a huge day in Week 13 against a top-10 New England pass defence if he is to climb up.

Smith, a former second-round selection, is the biggest surprise in the 2022 NFL season. Smith is leading the NFL’s completion rate with the Seahawks ranking as a top-five offensive team. It’s now a matter of whether he can continue his fantastic play. The 32-year-old Smith is only in his third year of professional football as a starter. Smith has been playing at a Pro Bowl level so let’s see if he can finish the year strong and get the Seahawks into the playoffs.
Tagovailoa is sure to be a top-ranked NFL quarterback when this season ends, especially since he’s playing in an offense with two 1,000-yard receivers. The third-year quarterback could push his way into the MVP conversation. Check out all of the top football odds
Hurts transformed from a quarterback who had to prove himself capable of keeping the job to a Pro Bowl player in his second full season. The Eagles selected Hurts in the second round in 2020. But no one expected him to become a top-ranked quarterback in the NFL. He has avoided making mistakes.
Hurts’ 2022 season is similar to Jackson’s MVP year, except that Hurts will not have nearly as many passing touchdowns and rushing yards, but he’ll finish with more passing yards. The Eagles are currently in first place.
Burrow’s offensive lines have been inconsistent, and he has had to play without Ja’Marr Chase for four weeks. He has responded well and scored 35 points or more in each of his three wins. The former LSU star quarterback is now seeing his offensive line jell, and if that continues, he could find himself one spot higher soon.
Expect Burrow to have another huge day against the Chiefs, with Chase expected to return for Week 13’s juicy matchup against a low-quality Kansas City pass defense.
Mahomes the former MVP can ring 400 yards per week and is on pace to surpass the NFL’s single-season passing yards record. Kansas City is now the AFC’s top seed and well on its way to another strong postseason run. Next up, the Bengals are in a certain shootout. The Bengals have top-15 pass defense, but it’s Mahomes against Burrow so expect an entertaining match.
