This is a rematch of last year’s Super Bowl, and you can expect Paycor stadium to be rocking even if it is just a preseason game. Most of the serious work will be done between these two teams as the first-string players will battle on the practice field as the Rams/Bengals will hold two days of joint practices. The Bengals and Rams are two teams that do not believe in playing a lot of starters in preseason games, and I expect that to happen in this game, also. Cincinnati Bengals Betting Tips
Zac Taylor, the Bengals’ coach, is a McVay disciple. This means he also sits his starters and key reserves in the preseason. Taylor started his career in Los Angeles in 2017 as an assistant wide receivers coach and was elevated to the position of quarterbacks coach in 2018.
Taylor may be reluctant to allow Burrow on the field, knowing that he is recovering from an appendectomy which kept him out of practice until recently. There are good chances that he won’t play. Even if he does, Burrow probably won’t be able to play for too much.
The Bengals competition will be on the offensive line, where they had issues last year. Free Agency took care of most of those issues, but left guard is still an issue. Depth also looks to be a huge issue on the offensive line for the Bengals.

There are still many roster battles in LA. McVay’s emphasis on joint workouts and practice reps could lead to separation in the depth charts at different positions.
QB#2 is a toss-up, depending on your style of play. Both John Wolford and Bryce Perkins both have shown that they are capable of moving the team.
The offensive line’s backups and pecking order are still to be established. The last three spots on the offensive line are not yet certain. The preseason has been good for Chandler Brewer. Alaric Jack made last year’s squad but looks slightly out of shape and has experienced some awkward moments. Jeremiah Kolone found a place at the center and performed as well as the rest. Will Bobby Evans continue to confound fans and help the team?
Benton Whitley, Keir Thomas and Daniel Hardy are now out of commission for a while.
Jake Gervase has played well and demonstrated in the past that his skills are solid in special teams. Jake Hummel hustles but has been restricted to special teams, and the injury status of Travin Howard remains to be determined.
McVay has already sat out 40 preseason players on average in the first two games. This doesn’t even include the guys who have been nicked up. The heat is intense, and the stage lights are brightening this week. Who will be chosen to play a part?
Despite Cincinnati losing both preseason games last week, the team averaged 22.5 points in their first two preseason games. The Bengals were held to just nine points in the first half (three Evan McPherson field goals) last week against the New York Giants. Taylor sent Brandon Allen and his team out for the first third-quarter drive. He was unhappy that they hadn’t punched it in the end zone. Although their offense was moving the ball well in the first half of the game, many of their drives were stopped by four poor holding calls. Cincinnati could see more drives ending with six points if their offensive line performed better.
Because oddsmakers don’t expect many starters, this number is meager. The second and third-string defense of Cincinnati has been so bad that the score has not halted just because reserve players entered the game. The Bengals gave up 18 points to Davis Webb and the Giants in the fourth quarter. Webb tore through their secondary and completed 22 of 27 passes for 204 yards with two touchdowns.
