NFL Power Rankings Week 8

Detroit defends the den, Hurts and the Philly passing offense wakes up, Indy continues to dominate
Publish Date: 10/22/2025
Fact checked by: Mike Goodpaster
  1. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (6-1): Jonathan Taylor might be the NFL MVP so far. Taylor leads the league rushing yards and touchdowns, and the Colts have the NFL’s best offense (2nd in yards, 1st in points scored).
  2. DETROIT LIONS (5-2): A dominant win on Monday Night Football over likely fellow playoff team. The defense was undermanned, but played well. The offense has to do better on 3rd down (3/13 vs Tampa Bay), and two turnovers is gross, but that’s just nitpicking.
  3. GREEN BAY PACKERS (4-1-1): Nice comeback win against a spiraling Cardinals team. Micah Parsons had a DAY, collecting three sacks. Offense was good when it mattered.
  4. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (5-2): Jalen Hurts had his best game of the season, but Barkley and the ground game continues to struggle. The offensive line has been a major issue.
  5. BUFFALO BILLS (4-2): *BUFFALO had a bye week*
  6. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (5-2): Seattle was very sloppy in the win. The offense had four turnovers and were 2/14 on third down, while the team committed 12 penalties. This is a good team, but the bye week came at the right time.
  7. DENVER BRONCOS (5-2): Bo Nix accounted for four total touchdowns, but this offense has to get going earlier. Denver was lucky to win it at the end.
  8. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (4-3): Rashee Rice came back and provided instant impact, scoring two touchdowns. Are the Chiefs officially back?
  9. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (5-2): The offense couldn’t get going, and the team is banged up. Mike Evans is likely out for the rest of the season. They’ve got a winnable game against the Saints this week.
  10. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (5-2): Despite a mountain of injuries on both sides of the ball, this team continues winning. As long as Christian McCaffrey is healthy and getting the rock, this offense will be fine.
  11. LOS ANGELES RAMS (5-2): Even without star wideout Puka Nacua, the passing offense was humming. Matt Stafford threw five touchdown passes in the win – his most since 2015 with Detroit.
  12. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (5-2): Drake Maye continues to excel. Maye went 21 of 23 against the Titans, and he became the first Patriots quarterback to complete over 90% of his passes in a game with at least 20 attempts. Maye also had a season-high 62 rushing yards.
  13. PITTSBURGH STEELERS (4-2): Pittsburgh’s defense had its worst outing of the season. They allowed an offense that had been arguably the league’s worst (31st in yards) to drop 33 points and 470 total yards.
  14. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (4-3): A career high 420 passing yards from Justin Herbert wasn’t enough to get the win. That’s now three losses in their last four games.
  15. WASHINGTON COMMANDERS (3-4): Jayden Daniels left the game on the first drive of the second half after a sack fumble and did not return. Washington plays Kansas City, Seattle, and Detroit over their next three games. Season is on the brink.
  16. CHICAGO BEARS (4-2): That’s now four straight wins for Chicago. The defense was great, forcing Rattler to commit four turnovers, and holding New Orleans’ rushing attack to just 44 yards (2.6 yards per carry). Back-to-back great games for running back D’Andre Swift.
  17. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (4-3): The Jaguars committed 13 penalties and allowed seven sacks in the loss. Two-way star Travis Hunter finally had a good game at reciever – he finished with eight catches for 101 yards and his first NFL offensive touchdown.
  18. MINNESOTA VIKINGS (3-3): Three straight subpar games for running back Jordan Mason. Carson Wentz threw two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown. When will J.J. McCarthy come back from injury?
  19. ATLANTA FALCONS (3-3): It’s becoming concerning that the offense sputters when Bijan Robinson isn’t doing amazing things.
  20. CAROLINA PANTHERS (4-3): Bryce Young got hurt, so it’s worth keeping an eye on his status for the game against Buffalo. Jaycee Horn had two clutch interceptions, and Carolina’s defense played well.
  21. DALLAS COWBOYS (3-3-1): Dak Prescott has been playing at an elite level. Javonte Williams bounced back from an awful game at Carolina with his second 100+ yard rushing performance of the season. Welcome back, Ceedee Lamb!
  22. HOUSTON TEXANS (2-4): You thought this offense was back on track after dominating Baltimore? Guess again, sweetheart! C.J. Stroud struggled again, and the ground game was non-existent. Elite defense, garbage offense.
  23. NEW YORK GIANTS (2-5): Losing when you’re up 19 early in the 4th quarter is one thing. Allowing 33 points in the 4th quarter is just embarrassing. Jaxson Dart had a Jekyll/Hyde game – completed only 45.5% of his passes, but had four total touchdowns.
  24. CINCINNATI BENGALS (3-4): Joe Flacco looked great, and Ja’Marr Chase had a career day (16 receptions, 161 yards, 1 touchdown). The defense sucked again, allowing almost 400 total yards.
  25. ARIZONA CARDINALS (2-5): Jacoby Brissett played well, but took six sacks and lost a fumble that led to a Green Bay touchdown. Bad teams find ways to lose.
  26. BALTIMORE RAVENS (1-5): *BALTIMORE had a bye week*
  27. CLEVELAND BROWNS (2-5): This team seems to do better when Quinshon Judkins gets fed. The defense continues to impress (1st in total yards allowed, 4th against the run and pass).
  28. LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (2-5): Jakobi Meyers has requested a trade, and this season is quickly going down the tubes. Will the Raiders have a fire sale soon?
  29. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (1-6): It’s time to see what rookie second round pick Tyler Shough can do. Spencer Rattler has done nothing to indicate he is the future at quarterback. He had four turnovers – including three interceptions.
  30. MIAMI DOLPHINS (1-6): Mike McDaniels has one foot out the door. Tua threw three picks and then got replaced by seventh round pick Quinn Ewers. Ugly times in Miami.
  31. TENNESSEE TITANS (1-6): Cam Ward is taking a beating (30 sacks this season; most in the NFL). New coach, same result.
  32. NEW YORK JETS (0-7): It looks like the Justin Fields experiment is over. Tyrod Taylor was not much better. Aaron Glenn’s seat is gonna get hotter every week if this continues.
