McDaniels is living on borrowed time with the Raiders, and Sunday’s debacle almost assures we will see a new Raiders coach shortly. McDaniels has turned a playoff team into a laughingstock. This also shows that the raiders’ front office is also a laughing stock as they had the right coach last year and let him go because he didn’t have the name of Josh McDaniels. Do the Colts have the right coach? There is no way to know that this soon, and I would not read too much into beating the embarrassing Raiders.
McCarthy turned down a shot to win the game against the Packers when he turned down taking a shot at a game-winning 53-yard field goal. Now I can see why he would do that in that instance, but the play call was horrible, and the execution was even worse by the Cowboys. The Cowboys play calling as a whole leads a lot to be desired.
People are gushing over the Niners’ offense after the addition of Christian McCaffery. Still, the real reason the Niners are turning into Super Bowl contenders is a dominating defense and that played out on Sunday Night in a massive win over the Chargers. The Niners’ defense is led by Nick Bosa, and they are good enough to win a Super Bowl. The big question is Jimmy G. capable of getting it done in the clutch in the playoffs, and that answer will determine the 49ers’ fate this season.
Down 27-10 in the second half in Buffalo would be a loss for almost any team. For the Minnesota Vikings, they proved on Sunday in Buffalo that they are a serious contender to win a Super Bowl. Justin Jefferson made maybe the most incredible catch I have ever seen and took over the game like he was Jerry Rice. The defense stepped up and controlled the fourth quarter and the overtime. The Vikings are a talented team, and they may be destiny’s darlings this season.
Justin Fields was a human highlight machine once again on Sunday afternoon. Fields also has a history of making terrible decisions that keep his team from winning games. This Sunday was no different as Fields threw a terrible interception and took two bad sacks on the bears’ final drive. Fields are showing improvement, but his ability to read coverages has to be suspect; if he can figure out that aspect of the game, the Bears might have their first franchise quarterback since Sid Luckman.
I know Tua is playing well, but the people who need the congratulations in Miami are in the front office in Miami. Earlier in the season the Dolphins couldn’t run. The Dolphins went out and got a couple of running backs. The Dolphins lacked an elite pass rusher, so they went out and got Bradley Chubb. Those moves have made the Dolphins serious contenders in the AFC.
The Titans defense was short-handed and still managed to sack Russell Wilson six times on Sunday in a come-from-behind win that has the Titans firmly in control of the AFC South. The Titans offense was stagnant for most of the day, but a banged-up defense came through for the Titans, and Ryan Tannehill did not light the world on fire; he is a hundred times better than Malik Willis.
Tampa bay played defense, and ran the ball well in Germany on Sunday, and seemingly have some of their issues from previous weeks straightened out. Tom Brady was efficient and the defense was tough as the Bucs have established themselves as the clear favorite in the NFC South. Check out the top football odds.
