NFL Week 3: Top 5 games to bet: Phil/TB, Cin/Rams, Mia/Den, Atl/Det, Tenn/Cleve

Top 5 Games to bet on

Eagles (-5.5, 46.5 o/u) at Buccaneers

The Eagles are still working through issues in their passing game and defense. Even with a solid pass rush, however, holes remain. Meanwhile, the Bucs’ complex run defense and active back seven have proven difficult for Jalen Hurts to run against in the past. Jalen will make enough plays, while Baker Mayfield may surprise everyone by being more comfortable than expected with all his outside and inside weapons at home in prime time. Pick Eagles 23  Bucs 20

DraftKings

4.5/5

• Over/Under: Philadelphia vs Tampa Bay(46.5)

Dolphins (-6.5, 48 o/u) over Broncos

Mike McDaniel often coaches and plays his Dolphins at a different speed than their opponents. He uses fast playmakers to take advantage of big plays when passing or running, which the Broncos struggled with at home against lesser teams. Denver arrives desperately 0-2, making a long road trip after failing twice at home against lesser competition; Sean Payton is unlikely to find offensive or defensive answers here despite an identity crisis within their roster. Pick Miami 31  Denver 16

DraftKings

4.5/5

Prediction: Bet Miami to cover

• Over/Under: Miami vs Denver(48)
• Spread: Miami -6.5

Titans at Browns (-3, 39.5 o/u)

The Titans hope to give themselves a fighting chance against former AFC South foe Deshaun Watson by using their solid run defense to curb Cleveland’s Nick Chubb-less running game, while simultaneously using Derrick Henry – their power rushing champion – to wear down Myles Garrett and Cleveland’s pass rush, hoping that Watson makes more plays than Ryan Tannehill does. Pick Cleveland 20 Tennessee 16

DraftKings

4.5/5

Prediction: Bet Cleveland to cover

• Over/Under: Tennessee vs Cleveland(39.5)
• Spread: Cleveland -3

Falcons at Lions (-3.5, 45.5 o/u)

The two defenses are improved with significant personnel investments, and both teams excel at running the ball behind two elite offensive lines. With no David Montgomery, it’s a chance for an exciting duel between rookie first-round running backs Jahmyr Gibbs and Bijan Robinson. Atlanta will try to stay grounded as long as possible to hide Desmond Ridder again, while Jared Goff will find more he likes across the board in the passing game at home. Pick Detroit 27  Atlanta 17

DraftKings

4.5/5

Prediction: Bet Detroit to cover

• Over/Under: Atlanta vs Detroit(45.5)
• Spread: Detroit -3.5
• Pick: Bet the Lions to cover

Rams at Bengals (-2, 43.5 o/u)

Will Joe Burrow play in the Super Bowl 56 rematch? That’s a significant question that will determine the outcome of the game. The betting line, not even giving the Bengals the requisite home-field-goal edge, is worrisome. Jake Browning has never started an NFL game, and there will be heat on him to deliver at home at 0-2. Matthew Stafford and the Rams’ entire offense are playing well and will raise the scoring burden on Cincy. Pick Rams 23  Cincinnati 16

DraftKings

4.5/5

Prediction: Bet Los Angeles to cover

• Over/Under: Los Angeles vs Cincinnati(43.5)
• Spread: Cincinna -2
• Pick: Bet the Rams to cover
