Las Vegas Raiders vs Minnesota Vikings Game Preview

Minnesota and Las Vegas won’t be playing in the 2022 regular season. This will also mark the Vikings’ first visit to Allegiant Stadium. Check out the latest NFL betting sites.

Josh McDaniels, the Raiders’ first-year coach, is currently 3-6 in his preseason coaching career. This includes his first stint as a head coach with Denver. Kevin O’Connell (formerly the Rams’ offensive coordinator) will make his Vikings coaching debut. Minnesota couldn’t hire him until the Rams’ 2022 season was finished. That didn’t finish until Super Bowl 56.

Although we can’t predict what Kevin O’Connell’s preseason will look like, his former boss Sean McVay (Rams), rarely played starters during exhibition games. Irv Smith, the top tight end, will be absent in the preseason due to thumb surgery. However, he should be available for Week 1 of the regular season. Smith could not play in the 2021 season due to meniscus surgery on his right knee. Under new coordinator Ed Donatell, the Vikings switched to a 3-4) base defense for the first time since 1985. This may be an opportunity to give the defensive starters a chance to play a few more snaps.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders will play in their second preseason game after beating Jacksonville 27-11 last Thursday in Canton, Ohio’s Hall of Fame Game. Las Vegas starting QB Derek Carr didn’t play. No. No. Fourth-round rookie Zamir white from Georgia has impressed the team. He ran for 54 yards on 11 carries and caught three passes for 23 yards against Jacksonville.
