The Bengals lost to the Arizona Cardinals in their opening preseason game. QB Jake Browning was the focus of attention. He was there to help injured Brandon Allen, who had suffered a concussion in the first quarter and had to be taken off the field. Browning had 190 yards passing but did not have a touchdown pass. He fumbled the ball three times. On the other hand, Drew Plitt was 6/6 for 76 yards with a touchdown.

Tyrod Taylor performed admirably against the Pats, and the race for the New York QB job is open. Taylor passed for 129 yards with a touchdown; Jones had 69.
