Mike McDaniel will be the new coach of the Miami Dolphins; what are his qualifications? The Dolphins have given McDaniel a four-year contract. McDaniel has been an offensive coordinator in the NFL for precisely one year with the 49ers. McDaniel is biracial, so he checks a box the Dolphins needed to check desperately; he is known for his run game, something Tua Tagovailoa might not like to hear. Of course, with Tua’s struggles throwing the ball, the offense could help him. My issue is the light resume, one year as an offensive coordinator and never been a head coach. I know he’s a coach that players like, and he has a great personality, but I think there were more qualified candidates than McDaniel. The other issue I would have with anybody being named head coach of the Dolphins is ownership. The Dolphins have been a mess as an organisation, and while I think this is not a great hire, it’s better than Kellen Moore.
It’s mind-blowing that Coach Caldwell is not a head coach in the NFL. He was a massive reason for Peyton Mannings success; when Caldwell arrived in Indy as the quarterback’s coach headed into Manning’s fifth year, Manning was averaging 20 interceptions a year. For the rest of the time in Indy, Manning averaged just 12 interceptions a year and became an all-time great quarterback. Manning has credited Caldwell numerous times for his improvement. In his first year as the Colts coach, Caldwell went 14-2 and led the Colts to the Super Bowl. The following year which would be Manning’s last Caldwell, led the Colts to the playoffs with a 10-6 record. Without Manning, the Colts went 2-14, and the Colts fired Caldwell because he couldn’t win with Curtis Painter at quarterback! In 2012 he became the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens, and he helped the Ravens win in the Super Bowl in 2013; you starting to get the idea here? He is far more qualified than McDaniel, and he lost out to Matt Eberflus in Chicago! In 2014 Caldwell was named the head coach of the Detroit Lions. Caldwell immediately led the Lions to an 11-5 record and the playoffs. A few years later, Caldwell would be fired when he was the winningest Lions coach since the 1950s. Caldwell deserves a head coaching job, and I think he is the most qualified person without a job. Click here for more football news!
I turned the Pro Bowl on for about five minutes, and that’s all I could handle. It was touch football, and I am sorry, I didn’t want to watch that! I know the NFL has a television contract that makes them money for putting the game on, and that’s why it’s still played. In the 70s and 80s, it looked like a real football game, but that is not the case anymore! I want to clarify that I do not think the game should even be played; it is pointless. But give me some effort and at least a little contact. This game should not be played anymore!
