Leonard Fournette shows up to Tampa Bay more than 30 pounds overweight

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ front office has expressed concern about this, and it is rightly so. Leonard Fournette, weighing 228 lbs, walked into the building last year in shape and ready to go. Now, Fournette is 260 lbs and has just entered the mandatory minicamp of the Bucs. It is interesting to gain that much weight in the offseason, but not something that running backs should do.

Fournette ended the 2021 season with impressive numbers. He ran 180 times for 812 yards and rushed for eight touchdowns. He also had 69 receptions, which totaled 454 yards. He was responsible for ten touchdowns and was a key reason why the Buccaneers were once again one of the top teams in football a season back.

The Buccaneers need Leonard Fournette this season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have Tom Brady back, but they will need Leonard Fournette if they are to be the team they expect to be.

Tom Brady looked like he hadn’t missed a step last season, throwing for 5,316 yards with 43 touchdowns; it would be logical if those numbers were a little lower this season. They need other players to help him, as he is now 44 and will be 45 before the season begins.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl Odds

The odds of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers winning the Super Bowl in 2023 are currently second-best in the NFL.

The best sports betting sites have the Bucs at +850 to win Super Bowl 2020.

There’s a good chance that Brady will add another ring to his collection if he can do the same thing as he did last season. If guys like Leonard Fournette and Mike Evans can keep doing what they have done over the past few seasons, then there’s a high chance Brady will be able to continue to win.

This offseason was interesting for the Buccaneers as they learned that Rob Gronkowski, their all-time great tight end, isn’t going to be returning. While they are happy to have Tom Brady back in pewter, which is a good thing, there are still questions in Tampa Bay. The biggest as of right now is Leonard Fournette!
