The allegations have been numerous and shocking: More than two dozen women claim Deshaun Watson, a football star, harassed and assaulted them at massage appointments that Watson & his lawyers say were harmless. Check out the best bookmakers for betting on the NFL!
This year, two grand juries in Texas declined to bring him up for criminal charges. The NFL weighs whether to discipline him or not. In the meantime, the Cleveland Browns, in their infinite wisdom, signed Watson to a five-year, $230 million fully guaranteed contract to be their Quarterback.
Watson and his representatives think it is time for everyone to move forward. I felt that a month ago also until more people came forward in the case and the details of Watson and his masseuse fetish came to light.
A New York Times review of records, including depositions, evidence for civil lawsuits, and interviews with some women, revealed that Watson was engaging in more questionable behaviour than previously thought, and the Houston Texans were helping him.
Watson used the Houston Texans as a venue for some of his appointments, and they even booked Hotel rooms in some instances for the sessions. After a woman threatened to sue him online, a team representative provided him with a nondisclosure contract.
Watson’s lawyer Rusty Hardin stated that Watson “continues” to deny the allegations made in the lawsuits.
In the civil lawsuits brought in Harris County, Texas, by twenty-four women, Watson was accused of sexual assault. Tony Buzbee, the lawyer representing them, stated that Watson’s accusations of sexual misconduct and coercive behavior had been echoed by most of the women.
The suits have many similarities. However, only two of them included sexual assault claims. Watson was accused of forcing women to have oral sex during massages. In one case, he was also accused of grabbing a woman’s vagina and buttocks. Civil suits claim that Watson engaged in lewd behavior with women hired to perform personal services. He coerced them to touch him sexually, exposed himself to women who hired him for massages and moved his body so that they had to touch his penis. According to the suits, the incidents were alleged to have occurred between March 2020 and March 2021.
The Texans arranged for Watson to have “a place” at the Houstonian, where he “used the fitness club, dined there and set up massages in hotel rooms.” At least seven women met with Watson at the Houstonian for massage appointments. Does this sound normal to you?
Watson was sued by Nia Smith, who posted text messages and Cash App receipts last week warning Watson: “I could really expose you” Watson testified that he found a nondisclosure contract in his locker days after Nia Smith’s Instagram posts. Watson acknowledged that Brent Naccara, the Texas director of security, put it there after Watson had told Naccara about Nia’s Instagram posts. In about a year and a half, Watson got 66 massages from 44 women! Watson is a Pro Athlete; I understand the massages, but why only women? Why 4o different women? Don’t you usually find one that works for you and stick with it? Why only Women? This stinks, and it stinks big time. Remember Watson has been the Browns Quarterback during OTA’s during the period that this was known. The fact the Browns are ignoring the mounting evidence is disgusting and an indictment of a bad organization. Win at all costs!
The NFL..L., of course, is doing an investigation into all of this, but the New York Times evidence should tell the Browns what they need to do. The Texans are complicit in all of this; even if they did not know what Watson was doing, why the nondisclosure agreement? Why only women massage therapists? Why set them up in a Hotel Room?
This is a two-fold issue in that number one, Watson is a franchise quarterback, and tN.F.L.N.F.L. needs all of them they can get. ESPN is quiet because, let’s face it, the NFL owns them and controls the narrative. Race could also be an issue in this one. If you are a White analyst, we know how it can turn ugly quickly with being called a racist, so it’s best to leave issues like this alone to be safe. I know he has been convicted of nothing but 40 different massage therapists! Come on, man! They all are Women, and he never once had a male massage therapist. This all does not add up! Will, maybe it does but not in Warson’s favor. With the newest allegations, the Houston Texans are a team that needs to be punished also. The deal made needs to be negated as the Texans do not deserve anything because of their role in this disgusting episode. For a supposedly woke league that loves virtue signalling, they sure are burying their heads on this one, and the National Media does not seem concerned with calling this out!
