CFL Power Rankings Week 6: Argos remain on top

The Argos stay in the number one spot as the BC Lions assert their strength against Montreal. Edmonton almost pulls the upset against Saskatchewan.

9) Ottawa Redblacks

Ottawa is still winless after suffering a 21-13 loss to Hamilton over this past weekend.

8) Edmonton Elks

The Elks defense played well in a 12-11 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, but the offense was non-existent yet again.

7) Hamilton Ti-Cats

On Saturday night at Tim Horton’s Field in Hamilton, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats earned their inaugural victory of 2023 after defeating the Ottawa REDBLACKS 21-13.

Tyreik McAllister made headlines for catching a 64-yard touchdown reception – his only catch in the game – while James Butler amassed 64 yards on 15 carries for another big play of the night.

Jameer Thurman topped the Ticats defense with nine tackles and two sacks, leading them in tackles for each play.

Matthew Shiltz had an 18-26 record and completed 19 passes for 233 yards thrown.

6) Montreal Alouettes

The BC Lions were just the better team at home against the Montreal Alouettes who have now lost two straight games.

5) Calgary Stampeders

Calgary jumped out on top of Winnipeg 11-1 early but still came up short as QB Jake Maier was unable to make the plays to win the game.

4) Saskatchewan Roughriders

On Thursday evening at Mosaic Stadium in Saskatchewan, the Roughriders mounted an incredible comeback against the Edmonton Elks to defeat them 12-11 and seal victory for themselves.

Trevor Harris led his Riders back from behind when trailing 11-3, marching them downfield for a touchdown pass to Mitchell Picton and a two-point conversion pass to Kendall Watson to even the game at 11 and tie the score at 11.

The Riders took the lead on a kickoff rouge that gave them the lead and defensive back Nic Marshall then stopped Elks’ drive with an interception to secure victory for Regina.

3) Winnipeg Blue Bombers

The Calgary Stampeders led in the first half, but the Bombers used a second-half surge to defeat them 24-11 at IG Field on Friday night.

Zach Collaros led his team to victory with 231 yards and two touchdown passes, Greg McCrae led the charge through the air with 73 yards and one touchdown while Brady Oliveira ran 72 yards on his own.

2) BC Lions

BC handled the Montreal Alouettes 35-18, as they ran and threw the ball well. QB Vernon Adams was efficient completing 20 of 25 passes as running back Shaun Shivers carried the ball for an average of 4.5 yards per carry.
