Buffalo Bills Preview – And We’re On To New England

After beating the struggling Kansas City Chiefs while on the road, the 6-5 Buffalo Bills return to New Era Field for a three-home-game stretch. Their first opponents in this stretch? The 9-2 reigning Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. This is the first meeting between the two divisional rivals this season. Will the underdog Bills hand the Patriots their third loss? Here’s what to watch out for in Week 13:

Tre All Day

Bills CB Tre’Davious White had a tremendous game last week against the Chiefs when he made a key interception as the clock was ticking down in the fourth quarter. He’s a viable candidate for Defensive Rookie of the Year and he is progressing each week. White will need to be instrumental in limiting Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady’s prolific passing game. He will most likely be tasked to shut down wide receiver Brandin Cooks.

It’s Always Shady in Buffalo

Bills running back LeSean McCoy will need to produce 100+ yards on 20-25 carries. Additionally, if he’s targeted 6-8 times in the passing game, this will allow the Bills to feature their best offensive weapon.The addition of former Saints running back Travaris Cadet will serve as a change of pace running threat.

The Achilles Heel of Tom Brady, Literally

The concern for Tom Brady’s heel is troubling as these very often become non-contact injuries. The Patriots will need to hold their breath for this week and for the rest of the season. Lately, I’ve noticed he seems to be taking more hits each game. Watch for the Bills defensive front to produce pressure up the middle.

In Tyrod We Trust?

Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor’s main focus in the offensive scheme is to move the chains. Period. While first down running yardage is important, third down conversions are crucial to keep Brady off the field. Look for the Bills to have 32-35 minutes of possession time and zero turnovers  to give the Bills the best chance of pulling off the upset.
