If you are looking to bet on the NFL Draft and need to find the best bookmakers, you have come to the right place. The AFC has been upgraded with free-agent signings and trades in the past two weeks. Today, we will look at where the teams stand right at this moment.
This Texans team is in for a long season in 2022, but if they can hit on the draft picks for Watson, they could be a contender in two or three years.
The Jets look like they are in a rebuild mode that could work. The Jets upgraded many positions on this team, and now they will have to figure out if they have the right quarterback.
The offensive line has been improved, and the defense will be better. Trevor Lawrence has some weapons now in the passing game with the addition of Kirk and Jones to go along with Marvin Jones and Laviska Shenault. Look for the Jags to win 5-6 games this year, but they seem to be on the right track.
This team just got worse unless Bill Belichick has a trade-up down his sleeve. Losing JC Jackson is a killer, and how can you expect Mac Jones to develop if he has no actual receivers to throw to.
The issue for this team is the quarterback position; if they find a quality quarterback in the draft, this is a team that could be dangerous. Najee Harris should be in store for a big second season. Pittsburgh still has good wide receivers in Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool, with an emerging tight end in Pat Freiermuth. The defense added Myles Jack and should be a top ten defense.
The Colts drove their fans nuts by being patient, but in the end, it paid off with an upgrade at quarterback. Matt Ryan is getting up there in age, but he still puts up the numbers of a quarterback in his prime. Indianapolis’ defense will be very good with the addition of Ngakoue, and they have young athletic talent all over their defense. The question will be can the offense get it done? They need wide receivers, and the draft is about the only place left to get them.
Miami traded five draft picks for Tyreek Hill (including the No. 29 and No. 50 overall picks this year). Miami has the NFL’s best deep-ball receiver to go with Jaylen Waddle (104 catches), DeVante Parker, Wilson, and tight end Mike Gesicki. The offense will be loaded, and Tua Tagovailoa needs to prove himself to be an elite quarterback now; he has all the weapons he needs now. The Dolphins defense will also be good; basically, this ranking is so low because of Tua, and if he can turn the corner this season, the Dolphins could be dangerous.
Injuries destroyed any chance this team had of going to the playoffs last season. The Ravens are getting Lamar Jackson, J.K. Dobbins, and Gus Edwards back on offense in 2022. Ronnie Stanley will be back to anchor the offensive line, and the Ravens added Morgan Moses, who I think is one of the most underrated signings during this free agency period. The signing of Safety Marcus Williams gives the Ravens one of the best secondaries in the NFL. The issue could come on the defensive line as the Ravens need to add help there. The Browns became immediate contenders with the addition of DeShaun Watson and number one wide receiver Amari Cooper. The Browns have an excellent offensive line and a two-headed running back tandem of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. The Browns are solid on defense but need to add an edge pass rusher, and the offense needs at least two more receivers. I don’t expect the Browns to win the AFC North this year, but the Watson trade was about more than this one season. The Browns are set to be good for a while.
The Raiders offense will be explosive with the addition of Davante Adams who is the best wide receiver in the NFL. The rest of the offense will be explosive also with Adams, Hunter Renfrow, and tight end Darren Waller. Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake are an excellent 1-2 punch at running back. Derek Carr will lead this team which will give him the most weapons he has had in his time in Las Vegas.
The broncos were a quarterback away from being a playoff team last year and they got their guy in Russell Wilson. The Broncos have a young and explosive corps of offensive players in running back Javonte Williams, along with wide receivers Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick, and K.J. Hamler. Denver also has an underrated offensive line that should only improve with experience. Randy Gregory bolsters the defense but a lot of questions will surround the Broncos defense heading into the 2022 season.
The Titans weren’t flashy in free agency but they reinvented their passing game with the signings of Tight End Austin Hooper and what should be their number two receiver in Robert Woods. Ben Jones and Jamarco Jones will upgrade what was a sometimes shaky offensive line last year. Check out our sportsbook ratings!
The Tyrek Hill trade knocks this team down a notch because now you are missing a deep threat in the offense. They did add Ju Juj Smith-Schuster who will be an excellent slot receiver but they have lost their deep threat. Justin Reid will replace the departed Honey Badger and hopefully, the Chiefs will be able to make some moves to upgrade the defense.
Defense was the big issue last year for the Chargers and they made great strides in rectifying that this off-season. They added Khalil Mack at linebacker and JC Jackson to the secondary. This team is set up to win so now the ball will be in Justin Herbert’s court to get this team into the playoffs and make a deep run.
The Bills made one of the most unexpected moves so far in this off-season bt adding future Hall of Famer Von Miller to an already elite defense. The Bills added depth at defensive tackle and have one of the most explosive offense in the NFL. The Bills are a complete team and the time is now for this team to take the next step forward.
The Bengals finished the season as the best team in the AFC and they have only improved. The Bengals lost the Super Bowl because the offensive line was atrocious, will that has been rectified with the signings of Alex Cappa a guard from the Buccaneers, Ted Karras from the Patriots, and former Cowboy tackle La’el Collins. Joe Burrow, Joe Mixon, Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd are probably the most dangerous corps of offensive players in the NFL and because of their youth should only get better. The Bengals also added Hayden Hurst at tight end which is a slight upgrade over CJ Uzomah. On defense the Bengals will return every starter with the exception of Larr Ogunjobi who could actually return after a failed physical with the Chicago Bears.
