Week 2 of the 2017 NFL season is now a matter of record – so what did you learn…? The following are our seven Grueling Truths to take away from the previous week’s worth of games.
Last week, everyone was impressed with the Jacksonville Jaguars and finally thought the Jags had arrived; this week was back to reality for the Jags and their fans. On the bright side, I don’t think the Jags were as bad as they looked on Sunday, but they were nowhere as good as they looked against the Texans. Will maybe the Texans are just a bad football team right now?
As always, anytime the New England Patriots lose, you hear calls of “That’s it, this is the end for Brady!” And per usual, the next week, Brady shuts everybody up. Now there is cause for concern in New England with all the injuries they have had, but as long as Tom Brady is playing and Bill Belichick is coaching, they will be fine.
The Seattle Seahawks, Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Texans, and that’s just to name a few, are being dragged down by horrible offensive line play and all three teams – especially the Seahawks – have playoff rosters except on the OL. Luckily for the Seahawks, they play in the worst division in football, so they should at least make the playoffs.
I know Packers fans it’s the injuries! Whatever it seems every time the Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers play, the Falcons dominate the game. You know why that is? The Falcons are better!
The Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs have all been impressive this year and right now for me it is hard to pick a favorite in this division. Don’t be surprised if all three make the playoffs.
I know it sounds crazy, but with Seattle’s offensive line problems and the fact that the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals aren’t very good, it may only take 8 or 9 wins to win this division. The Rams are certainly a team on the rise. See what getting rid of Jeff Fisher can do?
The Pittsburgh Steelers are now 2-0, but the high-powered offense they have is not clicking yet. This may actually not be a bad thing, as the goal is to click later in the season.
