Week two was full of strange endings and bad coaching. Contenders like the Bengals and Colts are struggling and teams like the Dolphins, Lions, and Jags look like they could be dangerous. Check out the top football betting strategies.
Last year the Bengals went on a magical ride to the Super Bowl led by a hot, overlooked defense and a red-hot rookie kicker. Fast forward to this season and now the Bengals still have the same offensive issues that were there during that Super Bowl run. Bad play calling, bad offensive line play, and now the defense is not creating the takeaways that it did during the playoff run. The Bengals even though they have more weapons than any team in the NFL, are not attacking defenses as they seem to prefer long routes that lead to sacks or they throw a three-yard pass. Calling Sean Payton? I am serious here as the Bengals hired a head coach in Zac Taylor, who was not qualified to be a head coach.
As for the front office the decision to have 6-8 full-time scouts when most teams have three times that amount could be why they constantly swing and miss on offensive line picks. It doesn’t take a genuis to draft Chase and Burrow, but when is the last time they drafted an offensive lineman that panned out? Jonah Williams is a complete bust, but they made no effort to replace him. Volson may work out at guard, but it’s not looking promising at the moment. Cappa and Karras were good signings but Collins does not have the feet to play tackle and would be better off at guard.
Even though they started off this off-season well under the cap the Colts did next to nothing to get better. Who thought Matt Ryan would be better than Wentz or Rivers? 5 years ago, the answer would be yes, but Ryan is just a statue waiting to get hurt. They failed in the off-season to address a lack of playmakers on offense and giving Deforrest Buckner a big contract was crazy.
As for Frank Reich, why is he still the head coach? The Colts fell apart at the end of last season, which has carried on to this season. In the next month, the Colts should have a new Head Coach.
On Sunday, the Broncos had four plays from the Texans’ 2-yard line or closer in the first half, and they threw the ball on all four plays without completing any of the passes. Game one for the Broncos featured many head-scratching decisions, and game two was no different. The Broncos with a new head coach look hell-bent on self-destructing this season with stupid penalty after stupid penalty.
Jimmy G. should have never been backing up Trey Lance, and now because of a season-ending injury to Lance, the Niners now have the right man at Quarterback. Jimmy G. proved on Sunday he was the 49ers starting quarterback as he stepped in and played well, leading the Niners to a victory. The Niners are once again a Super Bowl contender.
The hope in Jacksonville was that Doug Pederson would help Trevor Lawrence out of his first-year doldrums and it seems to be working. Pederson is a great play caller and the Jags now are keeping teams off balance they could be a sleeper playoff team when all is said and done.
I know they won in Pittsburgh, but everything this offense does is a struggle, and while the defense may keep them in games, the offense won’t win them many. The Patriots have the GOAT as a Head Coach, but even the GOAT needs players to win, and the Patriots just don’t have them.
Trubisky averaged 5.1 yards per attempt and 4.6 air yards per completion, the coaches look afraid to turn him loose, and Mitch looks scared to death and is playing not to make a mistake. Give Pickett a shot. Can he be worse than Mitch? I doubt it, and if he is worse, does it matter because the Steelers are not going to the playoffs with Trubisky at the helm? Check out the top football odds.
Brian Daboll has changed everything in New York as the Giants have become a tough, hard-nosed football team that wins close games. Defensive Coordinator Wink Martindale has done an outstanding job and contained the Panthers even though he was playing most of the second half missing three key defensive linemen. The Giants are not a playoff team as of yet but I would be surprised if they don’t make it in the next two years.
The Panthers have now lost 9 straight and the roster is upgraded from last year. They lost two very winnable games and Rhule’s days seem to be numbered.
Tua Tagovailoa can carry this Dolphins offense with some fine-tuning. He led an incredible comeback on Sunday and the Dolphins are a legit playoff contender. The issue when it comes to over taking the Bills in the AFC East exists on defence where I think the Bills are just better.
