The Trojans decided to reload with college football’s best stars in the offseason, and instead of rebuilding, they Started with Lincoln Riley, former Oklahoma head coach. Riley brought in Caleb Williams, a highly respected quarterback. The latter will be paired with Jordan Addison (2021 Biletnikoff award winner) to make one of the NCAA’s most outstanding QB-WR pairs.

2022 National Championship Odds

Georgia won the 2021 College Football Playoff, its first national championship since 1980 under head coach Kirby Smart. Although the Bulldogs are expected again to be among the top college football teams in the country in 2022, they are not the favourite to win it all.

This distinction belongs to the Alabama Crimson Tide, last year’s runner-up. The Crimson Tide has the best National Championship odds at +200, with Bryce Young, 2021 Heisman Winner, back for his second season.

Clemson (+ 800) and USC( +1600_ finish the top five teams with the best National Championship odds.

Can USC win the National Championship in 2022?

Riley is known for being a quarterback expert and chose Caleb Williams as the starting quarterback at Oklahoma. After Riley was hired at USC, Williams decided to follow him and entered his name into the transfer portal to move to Southern California.

Williams as a freshman, threw for 1,912 yards, 21 touchdowns, four interceptions and 64.5 per cent of his passes. Williams proved to be a dual threat with his legs. He added 442 yards rushing and scored four touchdowns on the ground.

The Trojans also made a profit by signing Jordan Addison (one of the country’s best receivers), who will transfer from Pittsburgh, where he played alongside Kenny Pickett in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Addison had 100 receptions for 1,593 yards and 18 touchdowns in his second season.

Two top national transfers should be in Riley’s hands, giving him the firepower to lead one of the top offenses in the country in 2022. USC will also take advantage of a more relaxed conference schedule in PAC-12. This should make them one of the most popular picks for the National Championship.
