No. 3 Georgia looks to continue its dominant start when Western Kentucky visits Sanford Stadium Saturday afternoon.

Georgia opened the season by destroying Tennessee State 63-3, scoring 28 first-quarter points and leading 35-3 by halftime before Kirby Smart removed many starters. Quarterback Gunner Stockton completed 15 of 16 passes for 202 yards and three touchdowns, while Nate Frazier rushed for 72 yards.

Western Kentucky had the opposite experience, losing 49-14 at Nevada. The Hilltoppers allowed a 72-yard touchdown on Nevada’s opening possession and surrendered 49 points despite Rodney Tisdale Jr. throwing for 203 yards and Ajay Allen rushing for 102.

The market has moved strongly toward Georgia. The Bulldogs opened around -35.5 and are now -40.5, while the total climbed from 52.5 to 54.5.

Stockton needed only one half to throw for 202 yards and three touchdowns against Tennessee State. He completed passes to nine different receivers and finished with a 261.7 passer rating.

Western Kentucky just allowed Nevada to score 49 points, and Georgia possesses a much more explosive collection of receivers.

Allen was one of WKU’s few bright spots at Nevada, rushing for 102 yards.

Repeating that production in Athens will be extremely difficult.

Georgia’s defense held Tennessee State to only three points, and WKU is likely to fall behind quickly. A multi-touchdown deficit would force the Hilltoppers away from their running game and toward Tisdale’s arm.

Georgia may threaten this total largely by itself.

Tisdale also needs to protect the football and create enough first downs to keep Georgia’s offense on the sideline.

Georgia should attack immediately and use its superior offensive line to establish Frazier.

Defensively, the Bulldogs need to eliminate Allen and force WKU into obvious passing situations.

Once the game is secure, protecting starters becomes important with Georgia opening SEC play at Arkansas the following week.

Forty and a half points is a massive spread, but WKU’s opener makes it difficult to trust the Hilltoppers.

Nevada beat Western Kentucky by 35 points. Georgia is considerably more talented on both lines and just won its opener by 60.

The Bulldogs should create enough early separation for their backups to finish the cover.

Georgia dominates the line of scrimmage, Stockton produces another efficient performance and Frazier creates multiple explosive runs.

WKU should manufacture one touchdown, but consistently sustaining drives against Georgia’s defense will be extremely difficult.
