What you need to know: Billy Napier had a few difficult outs in Year 1. This included a season opener against Pac-12 champion Utah. It could have been a Top 10 team at kickoff.
Next weekend Kentucky is in town, and the Gators will face LSU and the Georgia game.
The hardest game: vs Notre Dame, Sept. 3
Most Likely Top 25 Opponents:6
What you need to know: The Buckeyes will open against the Irish at home and then close in the Horseshoe against a resurgent Michigan that defeated it last fall.
The No. 1 defense in college football last year was Wisconsin. There’s also a three-week stretch of October that you should be watching: at Michigan State, at Iowa and at Penn State. This schedule can include up to half of the games against ranked teams. This should assist in College Football Playoff selection. The schedule is tough but the toughest games are at home and the Buckeyes should be yp to the task.

Most Likely Top 25 Opponents:5
What you need to know:Β The defending SEC champions face what appears to be a resurgent Power 5 rival who happens to be coached and managed by Steve Sarkisian, its former offensive coordinator.
A win in Austin against the Longhorns means an undefeated September. This is a good thing for October when a trip to Arkansas and home against Texas A&M will be waiting on them. The other half of November is spent away, with consecutive games at LSU or Ole Miss.
The hardest game: at Alabama on Oct. 8

What you need to know: Jimbo Fischer enters another year with what is arguably his most promising roster and perhaps his most challenging schedule.
Week 2 will be at App State, and Week 3 will be against ACC potential power Miami. Before a three-week road trip to Mississippi State, Alabama, and South Carolina, an SEC opener against Arkansas. Two at home against Ole Miss and what could prove to be a better Florida.
The hardest game: vs Alabama, Oct. 1
Most Likely Top 25 Opponents:6
What you need to know: Another year in the SEC West. The Hogs performed admirably last year, snapping a 20-game losing streak and winning nine of their SEC games.
This time, the Razorbacks will face Cincinnati, AAC champion and College Football Playoff semifinalist. Cincinnati hasn’t lost in the regular season in two years.
Arkansas must go west with BYU mid-season to tangle with a strong team that brings back its quarterback and lots of skill at the positions.
The Razorbacks could be better than they were last year and have a worse record.
