Ranking the top 10 College Football Quarterbacks since 2000 is difficult. There have been some great college quarterbacks over the last twenty-three years, and today we will try to rank the top ten. Some had one unbelievable season and others had tremendous careers. The number one guy on this list was the quarterback with the best four-year career.

10) Marcus Mariota, Oregon Ducks

Mariota earned Oregon their first National title game appearance while winning the Heisman trophy. He amassed 10,796 yards through the air with 105 touchdowns while also contributing 2,237 rushing yards for 29 rushing scores during his career.

9) Robert Griffin III, Baylor Bears

In 2011, Robert Griffin III won the Heisman Trophy as the first Baylor player ever to do so. Throughout his career, he amassed 10,366 passing yards and 78 touchdown passes while also amassing 2,254 rushing yards for 33 scores.

8) Lamar Jackson, Louisville Cardinals

Jackson won the Heisman Trophy in 2016, following an outstanding campaign where he passed for 3,543 yards and 30 touchdowns while running for 1,571 yards and 21 scores – totalling 9,043 yards with 69 touchdowns while also running 4,132 yards for 50 touchdowns over his career.

7) Vince Young, Texas Longhorns

Young led Texas to a national championship and came second in Heisman voting that year, garnering legendary status with his performance against USC at the Rose Bowl where he passed for 267 yards while also running 200 more yards on foot – an astonishing feat that made Young an unforgettable player.

6) Cam Newton, Auburn Tigers

Newton made history at Auburn with one incredible season, leading the team to victory and winning a national title and the Heisman Trophy. He amassed 2,854 passing yards and 30 touchdowns while running for an incredible 1,473-yard gain and 20 scores!

5) Trevor Lawrence, Clemson Tigers

Lawrence played 40 college football games for Clemson, and they posted an outstanding 38-2 (.950) record with him as the quarterback. Lawrence suffered only two defeats: LSU in the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship game and Ohio State in the 2021 CFP semifinal game.

4) Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma Sooners

Mayfield won the Heisman Trophy in 2017 after leading Oklahoma to two College Football Playoff appearances. Mayfield passed for 14,607 yards and 131 touchdowns throughout his career, showing consistent excellence.

3) Deshaun Watson, Clemson Tigers

Watson led Clemson to its first national championship since 1979 during the 2016 season, finishing twice in the top three of Heisman voting and passing for 10,168 yards and 90 touchdowns while rushing for 1,934 yards and 26 scores.

2) Tim Tebow, Florida Gators

Tebow won the Heisman Trophy in 2007, leading the Florida Gators to two national championships in 2006 and 2008. Over his career, he accumulated 9,285 passing yards with 88 touchdowns while running for 2,947 yards and 57 scores on his way to glory.

1) Joe Burrow, LSU Tigers

Burrow had an extraordinary 2019 campaign, throwing for 60 touchdowns and 5,671 yards – both records. He earned himself the Heisman Trophy and led LSU to its third national title of all-time, capping one of the greatest individual seasons ever seen in college football history.
