The Alabama Crimson Tide hosts the Aggies of Texas A&M. They seek revenge after Jimbo Fisher’s team knocked out the Tide last season.
Bryce Young and his team have defeated all comers. They are now looking to correct the mistake of losing last year’s National Championship Game against Georgia. The reigning Heisman Trophy champion may be unable to play this game as the second-year starter suffered a right shoulder injury during the Tide’s win over Arkansas 49-26 last weekend.
Jimbo Fisher and now-unranked Texas A&M Aggies are looking to replicate what they did last season, which knocked Nick Saban and his team off. The Aggies entered the 2022-23 season as the sixth-ranked team in the nation. They would lose to Appalachian State at home earlier in the season but would rebound with a huge win over Miami, which was previously ranked among the top 15, just one week later. The Bulldogs beat A&M by 42-24 to take the Aggies out of the top-25 rankings.

Alabama took a 28-0 advantage in last week’s match against Arkansas. Alabama’s first game against ranked opponents went a little too well. Late in the second quarter, Bryce Young injured his shoulder. After the game, Nick Saban gave an update. According to reports, Young may be unable to play due to an AC Joint Sprain, but I expect he will be ready to go by Saturday!
After going up big in the first half, the Crimson Tide defense was a bit tested. Alabama allowed the Razorbacks to rush for 187 yards, and K.J. Jefferson was held to less than half of his passing yard average on the afternoon. The Crimson Tide defense allowed little in a hostile environment, except for that third-quarter blip.
Alabama is playing Texas A&M at home Saturday. Is Alabama tempted to look ahead to Tennessee, ranked number ten? Or do the Crimson Tide handle business?
Jimbo Fisher, the head coach, must wonder what happened in Starkville on Saturday. The Aggies were a big loser against Mississippi State. They fell behind 21-3 in the third quarter and never recovered. Texas A&M was therefore eliminated from the Coaches Poll and the AP Poll.
Simply put, Texas A&M was outplayed significantly in the first half. The Aggies could not score any points, and even though they scored 24 points in the second half, they were not part of this game. Max Johnson was able to replace Haynes King, who was very ineffective. He got the same number of incompletions (7 on twice as many passes) and had the same number (26 to 13).
Bryce Young is a game-time decision which makes this a much harder game to pick. I would suggest making a bet on this game right before kickoff after you find out if Young is playing or not. Really if he played or not, 24.5 points is a lot of points, and I think the Aggies will play well and cover the spread.

If you are betting on the Aggies to cover, the payoff will be solid, not great, and I think the Aggies will cover this game. For example, the odds as of a few days before the game are averaging -110 if you are betting the Aggies to cover. If you bet 100 on the Aggies +24.5, the payout would be around 91 dollars, which means you would get back the 100 you bet and the other 91 for winning the bet. To me, the best bet is betting the Aggies +24.5.
