Yes, Penn State’s run defense has been outstanding. This happens when you don’t have to face anyone who can run.

Auburn’s backs are strong, but the offense doesn’t work against anyone. Ohio is throwing it a lot, but Purdue prefers to fly through the air. Although Penn State is blessed with talent, this is the most talented running attack they have faced.

Blake Corum and the rush attack should be able to grind – even though the explosive runs may not exist – and McCarthy is happy with his 76% accuracy in the last two games.

Penn State’s defense has been worse than Michigan’s. Michigan’s pass rush is stronger, and the offense is better on third downs. Despite all the positive things Penn State does it only converts 34% of third downs.
