Oklahoma vs Texas Preview
The Red River Rivalry matchup between Oklahoma and Texas will be held this Saturday. Neither team is ranked.
This is the first time since 1998 when Ricky Williams, Heisman winner, and Texas won the Big 12 title.
This doesn’t mean the game will not attract plenty of attention. The game won’t have the same spark as other matchups because both teams are dealing with significant injuries and being unranked.
Davis Beville was the one who took over for Gabriel. He went 7 of 16 for 50 yards. If Gabriel cannot go against Texas, he would be given the nod. The Red River Rivalry is wild and unpredictable, so you can’t dismiss the Sooners if Gabriel isn’t there. But they wouldn’t be in a good position.
Oklahoma could not be facing Texas in a worse time, even with a healthy Gabriel.
The Sooners won against Kent State, UTEP and a Nebraska team who had just fired their coach. Now that they are in Big 12 play, however, it seems that their defense is not able to stop anyone on the ground.
The Sooners gave up 361 rushing yards in their 55-24 loss at TCU, one week after they allowed 275 total yards of rushing in a 41-34 win to Adrian Martinez and Kansas State.
