Purdue enters as a three-point home favorite after dismantling Minnesota 41-13, while Washington has lost three consecutive conference games.

This will be Washington’s first trip to Purdue since 1990. The schools have met 11 times overall, including memorable postseason meetings in the 2001 Rose Bowl and 2002 Sun Bowl.
Washington’s first Big Ten stretch has gone badly.
The Huskies lost 27-24 to Minnesota, 25-21 at USC and 41-24 against Iowa, dropping them to 0-3 in conference play.
The biggest concern heading into Purdue is quarterback health.
Demond Williams Jr. entered the Iowa game as one of the nation’s more productive quarterbacks, completing 67.5 percent of his passes for 1,327 yards while adding 265 rushing yards through five games. He was injured during the first half against Iowa and did not finish the game.
Backup Elijah Brown responded extremely well.
Brown completed 28 of 39 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns in just over a half, helping Washington score 21 second-half points after trailing Iowa 27-3 at halftime.
Wide receiver Chris Lawson continues to emerge as Washington’s most dependable target. He caught eight passes for 86 yards and a touchdown against Iowa after producing 82 yards at USC and 77 against Minnesota.
The larger issue is Washington’s defense. Iowa rushed for 263 yards and produced 465 total yards while building its huge first-half advantage.
That creates an uncomfortable matchup against Purdue’s suddenly dominant ground game.
Few Big Ten teams have created more momentum over the past two weeks than Purdue.
After upsetting Illinois 24-17, the Boilermakers crushed Minnesota 41-13 behind a spectacular rushing performance.
Running back Fame Ijeboi carried 31 times for 195 yards and three touchdowns, raising his season total to nine rushing touchdowns. Purdue rushed for roughly 300 yards as a team while holding Minnesota below 30 yards on the ground.
Quarterback Ryan Browne didn’t need to throw often, finishing with 159 passing yards and a touchdown, but he contributed a career-high 81 rushing yards and another score.
Before the Minnesota game, Browne had already surpassed 1,300 passing yards, completed better than 70 percent of his throws and thrown only one interception through five games.
That balance makes Purdue significantly more difficult to defend than its 3-3 record suggests.
The Boilermakers have scored 24 and 41 points in their two-game winning streak while allowing only 30 combined points.
College player-prop availability varies by sportsbook, so these are target numbers to consider if offered near these ranges.
This is the clearest matchup advantage.
Ijeboi is coming off 195 yards on 31 carries, while Washington just allowed Iowa to rush for 263 yards.
Purdue has every reason to keep feeding him.
Prediction: Fame Ijeboi — 112 rushing yards
Minnesota allowed Purdue to win almost entirely on the ground, but Washington should devote more defenders to stopping Ijeboi.
That should create more throwing opportunities for Browne, who opened the season with three consecutive 300-yard performances.
Prediction: Ryan Browne — 244 passing yards
Lawson has cleared this target in three consecutive games.
Whether Williams returns or Brown remains involved, Lawson has established himself as Washington’s most consistent receiving option.
Prediction: Chris Lawson — 78 receiving yards
Purdue’s offense is gaining confidence, while Washington just allowed 41 points and 465 total yards against Iowa.
With Ijeboi controlling the ground game and Browne capable of attacking through the air, Purdue should reach the upper 20s.
Prediction: Purdue — 30 points
Ijeboi has become the engine of Purdue’s offense. His combination of workload, explosiveness and red-zone production makes him the most important player in this matchup.
Browne’s efficiency allows Purdue to punish defenses that devote too many resources to stopping Ijeboi.
Lawson has produced at least 77 receiving yards in three consecutive games and caught eight passes against Iowa.
Brown’s performance against Iowa changed the quarterback conversation. If Williams cannot play or is limited, Brown proved he can move the offense.
Purdue needs to stay committed to the rushing attack. Washington’s inability to contain Iowa’s running game creates an obvious opportunity for Ijeboi.
The Boilermakers also need to pressure whichever quarterback Washington uses without allowing explosive throws to Lawson.
Washington must improve dramatically against the run and avoid another disastrous start. Falling behind Iowa 27-3 effectively decided last week’s game before halftime.
The Huskies also need clarity and efficiency at quarterback after Williams’ injury.
Purdue’s recent improvement is difficult to ignore.
The Boilermakers have beaten Illinois and Minnesota in consecutive weeks, and the 41-13 Minnesota victory showed they can dominate both lines of scrimmage.
Washington has enough passing talent to keep the game competitive, especially if Williams is healthy, but the Huskies’ run defense creates a major concern.
The 52.5 total looks slightly low if Purdue continues scoring in the 30s and Washington generates the same second-half passing production it showed against Iowa.
Washington makes this much more competitive than Minnesota did, but Purdue’s rushing attack becomes the deciding factor.
Ijeboi surpasses 100 yards again, Browne makes enough plays through the air and Purdue controls the final possessions.
