Two undefeated Big Ten teams collide Saturday afternoon when No. 7 Indiana travels to Lincoln to face Nebraska at Memorial Stadium.
Indiana enters 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten after dominating Rutgers 47-15. Nebraska is also 5-0 and 2-0 in conference play after pulling away from Maryland for a 48-23 Homecoming victory.
Indiana enters as an 8.5-point road favorite, but Nebraska’s unbeaten start and home-field advantage make this one of the most intriguing Big Ten games of the weekend.
Matchup: No. 7 Indiana Hoosiers at Nebraska Cornhuskers Date: Saturday, October 10, 2026 Kickoff: 12:00 PM ET TV: FOX Venue: Memorial Stadium — Lincoln, Nebraska Tickets: As low as $99 Point Spread: Indiana -8.5 Over/Under: 52.5
Indiana leads the all-time series 11-9-3 and dominated the most recent meeting, beating Nebraska 56-7 in Bloomington in 2024.
Indiana’s 21-game winning streak is the longest active streak in the country, and the defending national champions looked every bit like a contender against Rutgers.
The Hoosiers produced 593 total yards, including 329 rushing yards, while holding Rutgers to 254 yards. Indiana didn’t commit a turnover or a penalty in the 47-15 victory.
Quarterback Josh Hoover has been outstanding.
Hoover completed 20 of 27 passes for 251 yards and four touchdowns against Rutgers. He now has 15 touchdown passes without an interception this season.
Indiana’s running game may be even more concerning for Nebraska.
Turbo Richard rushed for 204 yards on just 13 carries against Rutgers, while Lee Beebe Jr. added 122 yards and a touchdown one week after rushing for 203 against Northwestern.
With Hoover operating efficiently and multiple running backs producing explosive plays, Indiana can attack defenses in several different ways.
Nebraska has been one of the Big Ten’s biggest early-season surprises.
The Cornhuskers are 5-0 after victories over Ohio, Bowling Green, North Dakota, Michigan State and Maryland. They have scored at least 31 points in every game while allowing more than 23 only once.
Quarterback Anthony Colandrea has been excellent.
Against Maryland, Colandrea completed 26 of 39 passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for a career-high 108 yards. Nebraska finished with 447 total yards.
Wide receiver Kwazi Gilmer also enjoyed a breakout performance, catching 11 passes for 147 yards and two touchdowns.
Nebraska’s defense produced the game’s biggest momentum-changing play when Dwayne McDougle III returned an interception 81 yards for a touchdown. The Huskers then held Maryland to only 95 yards after halftime.
The concern is Nebraska’s slow start. Maryland led 23-14 late in the second quarter before the Huskers scored 34 unanswered points.
Indiana is unlikely to be as forgiving.
College player-prop availability varies by sportsbook, so these are target numbers to consider if offered near these ranges.
Hoover continues to play exceptionally efficient football.
His four-touchdown performance against Rutgers demonstrated how dangerous Indiana becomes when defenses concentrate on stopping the run.
Nebraska should force Indiana to keep throwing longer than most opponents have.
Prediction: Josh Hoover — 268 passing yards
Beebe has surpassed 100 rushing yards in consecutive games.
Even with Richard exploding for 204 yards against Rutgers, Beebe still received enough opportunities to finish with 122 and a touchdown.
Indiana’s commitment to the ground game makes this an attractive number.
Prediction: Lee Beebe Jr. — 94 rushing yards
Colandrea’s mobility could be Nebraska’s most important weapon.
He rushed for 108 yards against Maryland, including a career-long 51-yard run.
Indiana’s defensive pressure may force him out of the pocket frequently, creating additional scrambling opportunities.
Prediction: Anthony Colandrea — 56 rushing yards
Indiana has scored 38 or more points in four of its five games and just produced 593 yards on the road against Rutgers.
Nebraska’s defense has been good, but Maryland moved the ball effectively during the first half and finished with 395 total yards.
Indiana is considerably more dangerous offensively.
Prediction: Indiana — 31 points
Hoover has 15 touchdown passes and no interceptions. Nebraska must force him into mistakes rather than allowing Indiana to stay ahead of the chains.
Beebe has rushed for 325 yards over his last two games and gives Indiana another physical option alongside Richard.
Colandrea’s combination of passing and rushing makes him Nebraska’s most important offensive player. Indiana must keep him contained.
Gilmer’s 147-yard performance against Maryland established him as a major downfield threat.
Indiana must contain Colandrea’s scrambling ability and prevent Nebraska from generating explosive plays after the quarterback escapes the pocket.
The Hoosiers should also continue attacking with their deep running-back rotation.
Nebraska needs to avoid another slow start. Falling behind 23-14 against Maryland was manageable. Falling behind by multiple scores against Indiana could be disastrous.
The Cornhuskers also have to clean up their penalties after committing 16 for 132 yards against Maryland.
Indiana is clearly the more proven team, but 8.5 points is significant for a road game against an undefeated opponent.
Nebraska has scored at least 31 points every week and has enough offensive balance to challenge Indiana more than Rutgers did.
However, the Hoosiers possess advantages in offensive depth, quarterback efficiency and overall consistency.
Indiana should win, but Nebraska’s home-field advantage keeps the game within one possession late.
The 52.5 total looks slightly low considering the offensive production both teams have shown.
Nebraska makes Indiana work harder than any opponent has so far.
Colandrea creates problems with his mobility, and the Huskers generate several explosive plays. But Hoover remains efficient, while Beebe and Richard eventually wear down Nebraska’s defense.
Indiana survives its toughest road test of the season.
