Conference USA rivals collide Saturday afternoon when the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers visit the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium.
Western Kentucky enters 3-5 overall and 2-2 in CUSA play after a 35-21 loss to Delaware. Middle Tennessee is 4-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play after falling 44-28 to Kennesaw State. Both teams remain capable of making noise down the stretch, making this rivalry game especially important.
Matchup: Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders Date: Saturday, November 7, 2026 Kickoff: 3:30 PM ET TV/Streaming: ESPN+ Venue: Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium — Murfreesboro, Tennessee Tickets: As low as $20 Point Spread: Middle Tennessee -1.5 Over/Under: 52.5
The Middle Tennessee -1.5 spread means the Blue Raiders must win by two points or more to cover.
If Middle Tennessee wins 27-26, Western Kentucky +1.5 covers because WKU lost by only one. A 27-24 Blue Raiders victory covers the spread. Because of the half-point, there is no possibility of a push.
Western Kentucky’s 35-21 loss to Delaware was frustrating because the Hilltoppers actually generated 477 total yards, including 232 rushing yards. They simply failed to finish enough drives and allowed Delaware quarterback Nick Minicucci to throw for 414 yards and four touchdowns.
Quarterback Brock Glenn continues to give WKU a dangerous rushing element.
Against Delaware, Glenn threw for 224 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 129 yards. He previously rushed for 95 yards against Missouri State and 54 against Sam Houston.
That mobility could be especially important against Middle Tennessee.
Running back Ajay Allen also found the end zone against Delaware, while receiver Moussa Barry led WKU with 80 receiving yards. The Hilltoppers scored touchdowns on their first two possessions but were shut out in the second half.
The biggest concern is defense. WKU cannot afford another afternoon in which explosive passing plays erase solid offensive production.
Middle Tennessee also enters after a disappointing defensive performance.
The Blue Raiders allowed Kennesaw State to score 44 points, including 25 unanswered in the second half before a late special-teams touchdown. MTSU still produced 380 total yards and possessed the ball for more than 40 minutes.
Running back Antonio Martin Jr. was the offensive bright spot.
Martin rushed 18 times for 106 yards and a touchdown, giving him his fourth 100-yard rushing performance of the season. He has consistently provided Middle Tennessee with its most dependable offensive production.
Quarterback Roman Gagliano enters with 1,587 passing yards, 12 touchdowns and only four interceptions while averaging just under 200 passing yards per game.
Receiver Cam’ron Lacy remains his most dangerous target. Lacy caught four passes for 73 yards against Kennesaw State and has averaged more than 60 receiving yards per game in his recorded appearances this season.
College player-prop availability varies by sportsbook and jurisdiction, so these are target numbers to consider if offered near these ranges.
Glenn has increasingly become a major part of WKU’s rushing attack.
After producing 129 yards against Delaware, his scrambling and designed-run ability should remain central to the game plan.
Prediction: Brock Glenn — 82 rushing yards
Martin has topped 100 yards four times and is coming off another strong performance.
Middle Tennessee should make him the centerpiece of its offense against WKU.
Prediction: Antonio Martin Jr. — 91 rushing yards
Gagliano is averaging just under 200 passing yards per game and has protected the football reasonably well.
WKU just allowed Delaware to throw for more than 400 yards, giving MTSU a reason to attack through the air.
Prediction: Roman Gagliano — 213 passing yards
Lacy is coming off a 73-yard performance and remains Gagliano’s most proven receiving option.
WKU’s recent secondary problems increase his upside.
Prediction: Cam’ron Lacy — 68 receiving yards
Brock Glenn — Western Kentucky: Glenn’s ability to create offense with his legs could become WKU’s biggest matchup advantage.
Moussa Barry — Western Kentucky: Barry is coming off an 80-yard receiving performance and gives Glenn an important downfield option.
Antonio Martin Jr. — Middle Tennessee: Martin is the player most likely to control the tempo if Middle Tennessee plays from ahead.
Roman Gagliano — Middle Tennessee: Gagliano has 12 touchdown passes against only four interceptions and needs to exploit WKU’s vulnerable secondary.
Western Kentucky must avoid the defensive breakdowns that doomed it against Delaware. The Hilltoppers allowed 494 total yards, including 414 through the air.
Middle Tennessee must improve against the run. The Blue Raiders allow 184.4 rushing yards per game, which creates an opportunity for Glenn and WKU’s backs.
Third down could also be decisive. Middle Tennessee converts only 31.3 percent of its third downs, making early-down success with Martin especially important.
The Middle Tennessee -1.5 spread essentially asks bettors to pick the winner.
The Blue Raiders need to win by two or more to cover, while WKU +1.5 covers with an outright victory or a one-point loss.
Middle Tennessee’s 3-1 home record gives the Blue Raiders a slight edge, while Western Kentucky is only 1-4 on the road.
The 52.5 total feels slightly high. Both offenses can move the football, but neither has consistently finished drives, and rivalry games often become more conservative late.
Glenn keeps Western Kentucky competitive with his legs, and the Hilltoppers create several explosive plays.
Middle Tennessee answers with Martin’s physical running and Gagliano’s passing.
Home field becomes the deciding factor in a close Conference USA rivalry game, with the Blue Raiders doing just enough in the fourth quarter.
