This line has moved up more than one point since its opening, suggesting there may not be much trust in Utah to claim a road win. Since 2021, Utah is 3-2 against the spread and 2-3 against the spread when underdog. They are missing stud quarterback Cam Rising, but the defense will keep them in any game, and I know Oregon State is good, but I do not think they are as good as Utah.
Pick: Utah 20Β Oregon State 16
How many points will Colorado score after being shut down 42-6 by Oregon last week? USC consistently scores at least 42 points each week, and Caleb Williams will pose an unsettling challenge even when playing away from his own stadium. Nonetheless, the line has dropped one point, suggesting some comeback appeal for Colorado at home; Deion Sanders may use this game as his big stage opportunity and deliver a more competitive performance; under Lincoln Riley, USC is 2-3 against the spread as an away favorite.
Pick: USC 52Β Colorado 27
Florida will likely be an easy pick as an upset pick here despite Kentucky having won three out of the past five meetings between these teams. Kentucky remains untested thus far, while Florida has continued to grind out wins since their season-opening loss against Utah. Graham Mertz and Devin Leary should provide quality quarterbacking here; therefore, it comes down to which quarterback avoids turnovers. We’ll pick the home team, which should be ranked. Kentucky wins again!
Pick: Kentucky 27Β Florida 24
Under Lance Leipold’s program development, they’ve returned to being ranked for two seasons straight – proof enough that his program development strategy has taken root. Among FBS programs, Kansas ranks 12th in rushing yards per game (217.8) and is an underdog; over those two campaigns they were 5-5-1 against the spread as an underdog (versus Longhorns 55-14 loss last season; this matchup may be closer).
Pick: Texas 34Β Kansas 24
Duke will look to capitalize on Notre Dame’s heartbreak after its 17-14 loss against Ohio State, with Riley Leonard continuing his success of making game-changing throws in the air against Sam Hartman, under Mike Elko’s guidance since last season. The Blue Devils will need the Irish to turn the ball over the way Cleson did to win this game.
Pick: Notre Dame 27Β Duke 20
