Purdue opens its second season under Barry Odom on Friday night when Indiana State visits Ross-Ade Stadium. The Boilermakers enter as 35.5-point favorites and have dominated this series historically, winning all seven previous meetings. Purdue won the most recent matchup 49-0 in 2024.

Quarterback Ryan Browne returns after starting all 12 games for Purdue last season. Browne threw for 2,153 yards and nine touchdowns while adding 206 rushing yards and four scores. He also recorded three 300-yard passing performances during the first five games of 2025.
