Nine weeks into the 2022 season, the TCU Horned Frogs remain undefeated. Sonny Dykes, the head coach of TCU Horned Frogs, is the first to achieve 8-0. After defeating the West Virginia Mountaineers, 41-31, the Horned Frogs could achieve this feat.
TCU’s senior quarterback Max Duggan has had a strong season. He completed 31 of 41 pass attempts, gaining 341 yards and three touchdowns. While throwing one interception, he also completed 31 of 41 passes.
Duggan now has 2,212 passing yards, 22 passing touchdowns and two interceptions for the season. He also boasts a 67.4 completion rate.
Duggan’s role in helping the Horned Frogs win this season is enormous.
Two weeks ago, the USC Trojans lost their first game of the season at the hands of Cameron Rising and the Utah Utes, despite a tremendous performance by quarterback Caleb Williams. After the bye week, the Trojans returned to take on the Arizona Wildcats.
Williams put up strong numbers against Arizona, throwing 31 completions for 411 yards, five touchdowns, and zero interceptions on 45 pass attempts. He put up these numbers without top wide receivers Jordan Addison and Mario Williams.
As long as Williams is starting under center, USC stands a great chance of winning. Given his performance, this is why he made the jump up to the No. 4 ranking.
In Week 9, Bryce Young and Alabama Crimson Tide were both on a bye. In Week 8, they trounced the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Young had good numbers. Young completed 21 of 35 pass attempts, gaining 249 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions.
Young will have a chance to climb up the rankings when they face the LSU Tigers next week. That loss to Tennessee in the end probably kills his chances unless something crazy happens.
If you’ve never heard, Michigan running back Blake Corum played a fantastic game to lead the Wolverines to another win. He did it when they took on the Michigan State Spartans, their bitter rivals.
The Wolverines won the game 29-7 over the Spartans. Corum ran for 177 yards and one touchdown on 33 runs. According to ESPN Stats and Info, this rushing yard total by a Michigan running back is the highest since Mike Hart ran 218 yards in 2005.
C.J. Stroud, the Buckeyes’ quarterback, wanted to keep up the video game performance against the No. 13 Penn State Nittany Lions; for most of the game, he didn’t, but when the game was on the line Stroud was special.
At halftime, Ohio State was trailing 14-13.Β The only point scored in the third quarter was a Buckeyes field goal.Β However, Ohio State’s offense was responsible for three of the four touchdowns they scored in the fourth quarter.
Stroud completed 26 of 33 pass attempts for 354 yards with one touchdown. If you want to bet on Stroud winning the Heisman, check out our top football odds.
It is finally here. According to the Power Rankings, Hendon Hooker is the favorite to win The Heisman Trophy. Hooker gave a strong performance when facing a Top 25 team.
Tennessee won Week 9 with a convincing 44-6 victory over the Kentucky Wildcats. Hooker was able to outshine Will Levis (2023 NFL Draft prospect), but it wasn’t even close.
Hooker completed 19 of 25 pass attempts for 245 yards and three touchdowns while running 23 yards and a touchdown in 10 carries.
Hooker might have had his Heisman moment two weeks ago when he out-duelled Bryce Young in their win over Alabama. Hooker may have another chance next week if he can help the Volunteers win against the Georgia Bulldogs.
