Hawai’i at Stanford 2026 Preview: Prediction, Betting Odds & 4 Prop Bets

Time: 7:00 PM ET / 4:00 PM PT / 1:00 PM HT Location: Stanford Stadium, Stanford, California TV: ACC Network Tickets: As low as $15 Betting Line: Stanford -5.5 Moneyline: Stanford approximately -220 / Hawai’i +180 Over/Under: 49.5 Points

Hawai’i and Stanford meet for the second straight season opener when the Rainbow Warriors travel to The Farm for one of Week 0’s most intriguing matchups.

There is an immediate revenge angle after Hawai’i defeated Stanford 23-20 in Honolulu last season on Kansei Matsuzawa’s 38-yard field goal as time expired.

The teams enter 2026 from very different positions.

Hawai’i is coming off a 9-4 season and Hawai’i Bowl victory over California. Quarterback Micah Alejado returns after throwing for 3,106 yards and 24 touchdowns as a freshman and enters the season as the Mountain West’s preseason Offensive Player of the Year.

Stanford finished 4-8 and begins the Tavita Pritchard era with a new offensive structure and quarterback. Michigan transfer Davis Warren won the starting job after missing all of 2025 with a torn ACL.

Despite Hawai’i’s recent success, Stanford enters as a 5.5-point favorite.

Alejado enters 2026 as one of the most productive returning quarterbacks outside the Power Four.

He completed 66.3 percent of his passes for 3,106 yards and 24 touchdowns last season while averaging 282.4 passing yards per game.

Hawai’i’s Run-and-Shoot offense remains built around volume through the air. Alejado attempted 430 passes in 11 games last season and returns veteran receiver Pofele Ashlock, giving him a proven primary target.

Alejado threw for 210 yards against Stanford last season despite dealing with an injury scare. With another year of experience, reaching 250 yards appears realistic.

Stanford’s new defensive coordinator Kris Richard could create problems with more pressure and disguised coverages, but passing volume still favors the Hawai’i quarterback.

Projected Bet: Micah Alejado Over 249.5 Passing Yards

If Stanford wants to protect Warren and control the game, Micah Ford should become the offensive centerpiece.

Ford led Stanford last season with 643 rushing yards and four touchdowns and averaged 71.4 rushing yards per game.

He was especially effective against Hawai’i, rushing 26 times for 113 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinal’s 23-20 loss.

The easiest way to settle Warren into his first game since 2024 is to establish the run. Ford has already shown he can handle 20-plus carries, and a projected line around 70 yards is reasonable if Stanford follows the same formula it used last season.

Hawai’i will likely load the box and dare Warren to throw, but Ford remains Stanford’s safest offensive option.

Projected Bet: Micah Ford Over 69.5 Rushing Yards

Prop Bet #3: Pofele Ashlock Over 64.5 Receiving Yards

Ashlock is one of the Mountain West’s most dependable receivers.

He caught 76 passes for 827 yards and eight touchdowns last season and recorded four 100-yard games.

Against Stanford, he finished with nine receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown.

Ashlock’s target volume may increase further after Hawai’i lost leading 2025 receiver Jackson Harris. Alejado trusts him in important situations, and Ashlock enters the year with 220 career receptions.

Stanford will certainly focus coverage on him, but that doesn’t necessarily eliminate his production. Ashlock can reach 65 yards through volume even without a long reception.

Projected Bet: Pofele Ashlock Over 64.5 Receiving Yards

Prop Bet #4: Game Total Over 49.5 Points

Last year’s game finished 23-20, but both offenses have reasons to improve in the rematch.

Alejado now has a full season of experience, and Hawai’i enters with confidence after winning nine games and defeating California 35-31 in the Hawai’i Bowl.

Stanford should also become more explosive under Pritchard. Warren has talked about creating bigger plays through both the passing and running games.

The biggest concern for the over is Stanford’s ability to shorten the game through Ford. The Cardinal held the ball for more than 36 minutes against Hawai’i last season.

Warren’s long layoff also creates uncertainty.

Still, something like 27-24 is enough to clear the number, and Alejado’s development makes another 43-point game difficult to project.

Bet: Over 49.5 Points

The Verdict

Stanford should be improved under Pritchard, while Richard gives the defense an experienced coordinator and Warren provides veteran quarterback leadership.

Ford also gives Stanford a proven offensive identity.

But laying more than a field goal against Hawai’i is difficult.

The Rainbow Warriors won nine games last season, have the more proven quarterback and return one of the conference’s most established receivers in Ashlock. They also already know they can beat Stanford.

Expect Stanford to feed Ford early and use the running game to settle Warren into the offense.

Hawai’i should respond through Alejado and Ashlock, making the second half a quarterback test.

Stanford’s home field and rushing attack provide a slight advantage late, but Hawai’i’s passing game should keep this matchup within one possession.

Final Score Prediction: Stanford Cardinal 27, Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors 24

Best Bet: Hawai’i +5.5

Moneyline Lean: Hawai’i +180 for upset value

Total Pick: Over 49.5

Top Player Prop: Micah Alejado Over 249.5 Passing Yards

Additional Props: Micah Ford Over 69.5 Rushing Yards | Pofele Ashlock Over 64.5 Receiving Yards
