This is an intriguing matchup as the Hawkeyes only give up 9 points per game, while Ohio State averages over 48 points per game. Iowa’s issue is their offense is horrid and that lack of offense will lead to a defense that gets tired and eventually breaks.

No. 14 Syracuse at No. 5 Clemson (-12.5) (noon, ABC) 

Syracuse has a balanced offensive attack and an excellent defense. They are a very good football team. Will they win? Probably not, but 12 points is a huge spread in this one, as I expect Syracuse to give Clemson all they can handle. Syracuse is 5-1 ats this season.

No. 21 Cincinnati (-3) at SMU (noon, TBD) 

Cincinnati is coming off a bye after two tougher-than-expected wins, SMU has an excellent passing attack, and the Bearcats will have their hands full.

Prediction: Cincinnati 31  SMU 27(Take the Bearcats to cover)

No. 20 Texas (-4.5) at No. 11 Oklahoma State (3:30 p.m., ABC) 

The Longhorns are a different team with Quinn Ewers under center and the Cowboys are coming off of their first loss of the season. The last five games between these teams have been decided by less than a touchdown.

Prediction: Oklahoma State 34  Texas 31(Take the Cowboys and the points)

No. 7 Ole Miss (Pick ’em) at LSU (3:30 p.m., CBS) 

The Rebels average over 271 yards per game on the ground and should give LSU all they can handle. I think the Tigers play this game closer than they did against Tennessee.

Prediction: Ole Miss 37  LSU 27(Take the Rebels to win)

Memphis at No. 25 Tulane (-7) (3:30 p.m., ESPN2) 

Seven points seem like a lot to cover in this one, as Memphis is a solid team. Tulane if they keep rolling could be a New Years’ six-team, how will they handle this, will they be too happy or will they continue to play well?

Prediction: Tulane 31  Memphis 21(Take Tulane and give the points)

No. 9 UCLA at No. 10 Oregon (-6) (3:30 p.m., FOX)

This should be a classic high-scoring affair as both teams average over 40 points per game. After getting thumped in their season opener the Ducks have rebounded and the Bruins are still undefeated and a win here will push them even closer to a CFP position.

Boston College at No. 13 Wake Forest (-20.5) (3:30 p.m., ACC Network)

Last year the Demon Deacons won this matchup 41-10, and not much has changed since that meeting.

Mississippi State is led by QB Will Rogers, and they are dangerous, but Alabama is coming off a loss, and Bryce Young will light up the night sky!

Minnesota at No. 16 Penn State (-4) (7:30 p.m., ABC) 

The Gophers are only averaging 12 points over their last two contests, and they are sinking fast. Penn State got beat down in Ann Arbor. Look for a Nittany Lions bounce-back win. Check out the top football betting sites.

No. 17 Kansas State at No. 8 TCU (-5) (8 p.m., FOX) 

TCU will be looking for their third straight win over a ranked opponent. The Wildcats come in averaging over 244 yards per game on the ground.
