Satterfield will take over as Cincinnati’s coach, but he won’t be coaching against his old team on Saturday. Kerry Coombs, cornerbacks/special team coach, will be the interim coach. He is trying to help Cincinnati win 10+ games in five seasons.ย Coombs will not have the support of several assistant coaches, who followed Fickell to Wisconsin. Some Bearcats players opted out of the game, including tight end Josh Whyle and wide receiver Tre Tucker. Ja’Quan Sheppard, cornerback for the All-American Athletic Association, announced his transfer to Maryland. They still have Ivan Pace Jr. as AAC Defensive Player-of-the-Year, who is third in the nation with 19.5 tackles for loss.
The offense was led by quarterback Ben Bryant. However, Bryant suffered a season-ending injury late in the year. Evan Prater, a sophomore, took over and completed 53.8% of his passes for 344 yards and one interception. Charles McClelland, senior running back, leads the rush attack with 140 carries and 834 yards. He also has seven touchdowns. Tucker was the Bearcats’ second-leading receiver, while Whyle was their fourth-leading target in passing games. The Bearcats will be looking for more from Tyler Scott, a junior wideout. He caught 55 passes, totaling 899 yards and nine touchdowns for the Bearcats. Kicker Ryan Coe entered the transfer portal. This could prove to be an interesting factor if the game is as close as expected.

After Luke Fickell’s departure from Cincinnati, Scott Satterfield the Louisville Head Coacg was named the Bearcats new head coach. This created an interesting storyline going into the game. Deion Branch was the director of player development and a former Cardinals star. He was also an NFL receiver. Although the Cardinals from Purdue hired Jeff Brohm, he will not participate in this week’s game. They will not have Malik Cunningham, their star quarterback, as he opted out to train for the NFL Draft. Brock Domann will replace him on Saturday, where he ranks seventh in school history for passing touchdowns with 62.
Domann was able to get a lot of playing time down the stretch. He threw 20+ passes in three games over the month of November. The junior completed 53.7%, completing 866 yards and three touchdowns, and five interceptions. To prepare for the draft, running back Tiyon Evans and wide receiver Tyler Hudson departed this game. Cornerback Kei’Trel Carl also walked out. Evans and Cunningham combined rushed for over 1,000 yards and 18 touchdowns, while Hudson had a record-breaking 69 receptions for 1,034 yards and two scores. The Cardinals had no other player with more than 430 receiving yards this season.

This is what it’s like to handicap a college football bowl game that is not a playoff game. Both sides have interim coaches, as well as a host of stars opting out. This is an interesting pick because neither team will have a starting quarterback. Cincinnati is a great choice, though. The Bearcats have a strong running attack and a star linebacker. They are also physically stronger than Louisville, so it will be difficult for the Cardinals offensively to adapt without Cunningham. They also lost their top wide receiver, and they’re most important running back. Cincinnati came in as the superior team and has more key players, so this is a handicap. Take the Bearcats to win this game.

If you are betting on the Bearcats to cover, the payoff will be solid, not great, and I think the Bearcats will cover this game. For example, a few days before the game, the odds are averaging -110 if you are betting on the Bearcats to cover. If you bet 100 on the Bearcats +2, the payout would be around 91 dollars, which means you would get back the 100 you bet and the other 91 for winning the bet.
