.JT Daniels will throw thirty touchdown passes at West Virginia. Coach Brown described Daniels as “the smartest quarterback we have ever had.” Daniels’ football talent and intelligence have never been doubted. Although he was a five-star recruit, he couldn’t keep his health in check, so he won the USC and Georgia starting jobs but could never stay healthy. Preseason camp saw the Longhorns lose guard Junior Angilau to a season-ending injury in his knee, which makes this bold prediction more likely. He was a fifth-year senior with 34 career starts. Vaughn ran 1,404 yards, with 468 receiving yards and 22 total touchdowns. He could run for even more this season.
3. Texas will go bowling
Texas bowls: The Longhorns lost six consecutive games in coach Steve Sarkisian, first season en route to a disappointing 5-7 finish. Texas is still some time away from challenging for the conference title. Playing behind a suspect offensive line might be difficult for Ohio State transfer Quinn Ewers. Texas will finish 7-5 after beating Baylor at home during the regular-season finale.
