Guard Chendall Weaver, one of the key players for the Texas basketball team, may be out for an extended period, according to head coach Rodney Terry. On Monday, Terry did not provide a timeline for Weaver’s recovery after he injured his right hip during a close 87-82 loss to Auburn on January 7. However, he mentioned that “it’s going to take a little time to get him back.”
A junior from Mansfield, the 6-foot-3 Weaver averages 6.7 points and 5.1 rebounds in 21.1 minutes per contest.
Oklahoma ranks fourth in the SEC for 3-point shooting, with an average of 36.8%, and leads the conference in free throw shooting at 80.9%. However, similar to Texas, the Sooners have struggled with rebounding, ranking last in the SEC with an average of just 33 rebounds per game. Senior forward Jalon Moore, who stands 6 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds, currently leads Oklahoma with an average of 16.7 points per game.
