In the age of modern technology where everything is digitized, one iconic Las Vegas Strip casino is bringing back the classic.
Circus Circus Las Vegas has chosen to expand its status as the only Strip casino still providing coin-operated slot machines by adding $5 coin machines together with its $1 machines, according to Las Vegas Review-Journal.
For as long as we can remember, slot games used to be mechanical, with the three familiar reels and a classic handle on the side. Now, most of the machines have mostly turned digital and their looks from the outside are sometimes barely recognizable compared to their familiar predecessors.
Classic slot machines have a unique charm to their loyal players: winning back the actual coins they put in the machines. It is a rare sight nowadays since the digital slot machines give you paper vouchers or slips that later you bring to the cashier or terminal.
If players hit a major victory in the coin slot machines, it became an exciting spectacle where they tried to collect quarters in plastic cups as the machine spewed out the coins.
“Look out for our Classic Coin Machines! You may play $1 tokens in the Main Casino or try your luck on quarters at Slots A Fun,” the casino said on the website.
Circus Circus’ coin slot machines also offer 97.4 percent payback, the casino claimed in a release.
“Magnificent 7’s – These classic 97.4% payback $1 slots are popular among locals and regular players. With frequent $1,000 jackpots, you can choose from the old fashioned coin payouts or Ticket in, Ticket out payouts.”
Circus Circus has been under a series of renovations after Treasure Island owner Phill Ruffin decided to purchase the casino back in 2019. The new renovations include a $10.8 million elevator repair, new air conditioning units installed inside the building alongside an upgraded pool and a paint job.
