Tyson Fury spoke out about a possible fight after Oleksandr Usyk successfully defended his World Heavyweight title against Anthony Joshua.
After 12 rounds of heavyweight boxing, Usyk defeated Joshua in a split decision in Saudi Arabia.
Joshua seemed like he learned his lesson in the first fight. But Usyk proved why he is the best pound-for-pound boxer anywhere.
Both boxers were physically and emotionally exhausted at the end of their fight.
Tyson Fury, as expected, has made it very clear to the boxing community his thoughts on his future, specifically against Usyk.
The Gypsy King expressed his opinions on the Usyk-Joshua fight.ย He called the fight one of the most difficult heavyweight matches he’d ever seen.
The heavyweight division would be unified if Usyk and Fury were to fight.ย This is a fight many would love to see.ย Both are skilled tactical fighters who can take out opponents.
In the second and third fights against Deontay Wilder, Fury demonstrated that he has power. Usyk would be in danger from that power, as he is not a natural heavyweight, but now he is 225 pounds and looks strong.
Fury has retired, so he says. However, the possibility of unifying might seem too appealing to pass up. And why would you believe anything Fury says about retirement after what we have seen the past few years??
Usyk said he would like to fight Fury.
Fury sounds like a man about to accept the challenge, and he has to. He cannot retire with unfinished business like this as it would cast a shadow over his entire career.
