A lot has happened over the last few months, which is reflected in these rankings.
Stevenson got his most significant win to date, beating Oscar Valdez, and he made it look easy. Stevenson has been on a roll capturing two titles as of late, and he has an excellent amateur pedigree as a 2016 Olympic Silver Medalist.
Haney took a risk and travelled to Australia to unify the Lightweight Championship against George Kambosos. The results of that fight jumped Haney into these rankings. Haney skilfully picked Kambosos apart and now sits in these pound for pound rankings.
Charlo became the undisputed Jr. Middleweight champion by stopping Brian Castana on Saturday night. Charlo was at his best in that fight and showed that he is a player with the big boys. He certainly has the power to make a move up work. Is a move up next? Charlo is without a doubt the best fighter out of the Charlo brothers and hopefully we see him in the ring again before the year ends.
Fury beat a very-limited Dillian Whyte but beating Whyte was not the story. The way he beat Whyte was the story as he did it with a spectacular one-punch knockout. Fury claims he’s retired, but he still has work to do as the Joshua/Usyk rematch winner would make for another huge payday.
Canelo was beaten and beaten convincing by Dmitry Bivol; you could say that it was the size, but in being honest, I think Bivol was the more skillfully fighter. The question is, where does Canelo go from here? That question was answered a couple weeks ago when it was announced that he will fight GGG for a third time.
Bivol had some nice wins over Pascal and Smith, but the performance against Canelo showed everybody exactly how good Bivol is. His defense was stellar against Canelo, and he controlled the fight, winning easily. Is a rematch next? Hopefully not because I want to see Bivol unify at Light Heavyweight.
Spence’s performance against Ugas was impressive, and it showed that the after-effects from the car crash are no longer there. A unification match against Crawford is the biggest fight out there, and I think it gets made before the year is out. Check out the top sports betting sites for betting on Boxing!
Crawfords last outing was a win over Shawn Porter, and to be honest, I would rank Crawford at number one, but his competition has not been great at welterweight. A win over Spence could quickly catapult him to number one in these rankings.
Inoue is pound for pound, one of the hardest punchers in Boxing. He completely destroyed Nonito Donaire to win Donaire’s portion of the Bantamweight Title and it looks like Paul Butler will be next up to be knocked out, that win will make Inoue, undisputed at Bantamweight.
Usyk has done more than anyone on this list. He cleaned out the Cruiserweight division, and then he moved up to heavyweight and, in short order, beat the much bigger Anthony Joshua. A win in the rematch against Joshua would set up a potential unification match with Lineal Champion Tyson Fury.
