A lot has happened over the last couple of months, which is reflected in these rankings.
Stevenson got his most significant win to date, beating Oscar Valdez, and he made it look easy. Stevenson has been on a roll capturing two titles as of late, and he has an excellent amateur pedigree as a 2016 Olympic Silver Medalist.
Lomachenko was impressive in his last outing against the always tough Richard Commey. A fight against the winner of Kombosos/Haney looks like it is on the horizon. A matchup with Shaku Stevenson would also be a great fight.
Charlo became the undisputed Jr. Middleweight champion by stopping Brian Castana on Saturday night. Charlo was at his best in that fight and showed that he is a player with the big boys. He certainly has the power to make a move up work. Is a move up next?
Fury beat a very-limited Dillian Whyte but beating Whyte was not the story. He beat Whyte as he did it with a spectacular one-punch knockout. Fury claims he’s retired, but he still has work to do as the Joshua/Usyk rematch winner would make for another huge payday.
Canelo was beaten and beaten convincing by Dmitry Bivol; you could say that it was the size, but in being honest, I think Bivol was the more skillfully fighter. The question is, where does Canelo go from here? A rematch seems like it would be just more of the same. I think the trilogy with GGG will be next for Canelo.
Bivol had some nice wins over Pascal and Smith, but the performance against Canelo showed everybody exactly how good Bivol is. His defense was stellar against Canelo, and he controlled the fight, winning easily. Is a rematch next? Hopefully not because I want to see Bivol unify at Light Heavyweight.
Inoue is pound for pound, one of the hardest punchers in Boxing. A rematch against Donaire awaits, and if he were to stop Donaire, it would tell us a lot about how good the Monster is.
Spence’s performance against Ugas was impressive, and it showed that the after-effects from the car crash are no longer there. A unification match against Crawford is the biggest fight out there, and I think it gets made before the year is out. Check out the top sports betting sites for betting on Boxing!
Crawfords last outing was a win over Shawn Porter, and to be honest, I would rank Crawford at number one, but his competition has not been great at welterweight. A win over Spence could quickly catapult him to number one in these rankings.
Usyk has done more than anyone on this list. He cleaned out the Cruiserweight division, and then he moved up to heavyweight and, in short order, beat the much bigger Anthony Joshua. A win in the rematch against Joshua would set up a potential unification match with Lineal Champion Tyson Fury.
