Fans will never forget the fight between Nonito Donaire & Naoya Inoue in 2019. The two will be rematching on Tuesday. Inoue will face Donaire in a battle for The Ring, WBC, WBA, and IBF bantamweight titles at the Saitama Super Arena, Japan, on June 7. Check out the best bookmakers for betting on Boxing!
Inoue turned pro in 2012. Inoue won the WBC junior-bantamweight title and the WBC light-flyweight title in 2014. Inoue held the WBO title and defended it seven times. Inoue defeated Jamie McDonnell to win the WBA (Regular) bantamweight title. Inoue is small but mighty! Most people have Inoue in the top 5 pound for pound list. He is a destroyer and is a fight fans dream to watch.
Inoue participated in the World Boxing Super Series bantamweight tourney in 2018-2019. He won three fights to win the Super Series, and that championship win came over Donaire. Since the Donaire fight, he has defended his belts against Jason Moloney and Michael Dasmarinas.
Donaire made his professional debut in 2001 at the tender age of 18. After losing his second professional bout, “The Filipino Flash” went on a 30-fight winning streak. Donaire won the IBF flyweight title, the WBC bantamweight titles and the WBO, IBF and The Ring super-bantamweight title. Donaire would not lose again for over a decade.
Donaire is nowhere near his prime, but he is a threat to anybody, including “The Monster”, as he proved in their first fight. Since 2018, Donaire has gone 6-3. He beat Ryan Burnett and Stephon Young in the World Boxing Super Series tournament, winning the WBA (Super) bantamweight title against Burnett. After losing to Inoue, Donaire won the WBC bantamweight title against Nordine Oubaali in May 2021. His last fight was a knockout win over Reymart Gaballo in December.
Per Caesars Sportsbook, Inoue is the -800 favorite, while Donaire is the +450 underdog.

The odds are stacked against Nonito Donaire because he has not gotten any younger over the last three years. Inoue is in the prime of his career, so the odds are so long against Donaire. I will take Inoue to win this fight but betting money line for the Monster to win seems stupid at these odds. If you notice, though, Inoue is +320 to win by decision. If I am betting this fight, I am taking the prop bet of Inoue by decision; the odds are too good to pass up, with that being said I like Inoue by TKO. Pick Inoue by TKO in the 7th round!
