Boxing Jaedyn Alpough: Port Arthur Prospect Building His Own Path in Professional Boxing

Professional boxing has always been filled with fighting families, and Jaedyn Alpough is beginning to write his own chapter alongside older brother Tayvien Alpough.

The young boxer from Port Arthur, Texas, has spent most of his life around the sport. He began boxing at only five years old, accumulated roughly 50 amateur bouts, and eventually followed his brother into the professional ranks. Now competing around the super featherweight and lightweight divisions, Alpough is attempting to transform years of development into a successful professional career.

At approximately 5-foot-9 and 130–135 pounds, Alpough has the frame and experience to become an intriguing young prospect as he continues to mature physically and technically. Eruption Boxing & MMA Management currently lists him as a super featherweight from Port Arthur.

Boxing Has Been Part of His Life Since Childhood

For Alpough, boxing wasn’t something he discovered as a teenager. It has essentially always been part of his life.

His older brother Tayvien began boxing at nine after becoming interested through a school friend. Jaedyn soon began accompanying him to the gym and started training himself at just five years old.

That means that although Jaedyn is still extremely young by professional-boxing standards, he already has more than a decade of experience in the sport.

Alpough told FightMatrix that he does not remember the exact number of amateur bouts he had, but estimated the total at around 50 fights. Those amateur contests provided the opportunity to develop technique, defensive awareness, timing and the ability to adjust to different opponents before entering the professional ranks.

Growing up in Port Arthur also helped shape his approach.

When asked about his hometown, Alpough acknowledged that it is a small city where distractions exist, but emphasized the importance of personal choices in determining what someone ultimately becomes.

It is a mentality that fits naturally with boxing, a sport built around discipline and individual accountability.

A Successful Professional Debut

After years in the amateurs, Alpough officially began his conventional professional boxing career on September 6, 2025, against Casey Foster at Texas Combat Sports Promotions’ Contender Series II in Houston.

Alpough weighed 134 pounds for the scheduled four-round bout.

He didn’t need all four.

Alpough stopped Foster by TKO at 1:35 of the second round, beginning his professional career with both a victory and a knockout. The result is confirmed by records from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation as well as Tapology.

It was exactly the type of debut a young fighter hopes for: gain professional experience, get comfortable under the lights and demonstrate the ability to finish an opponent.

Tapology currently lists Alpough’s traditional professional record as 1-0 with one knockout.

Power Runs in the Family

One of the interesting aspects of the Alpough brothers’ early careers has been their finishing ability.

At the time FightMatrix interviewed them in March 2026, both brothers had recorded knockouts in every traditional professional victory they had earned to that point.

Jaedyn believes some of his punching ability may be natural, although he also gives considerable credit to training.

His size adds another interesting element. At 5-foot-9 while competing around 130–135 pounds, Alpough has the potential to use length effectively against opponents in the lower weight divisions.

Power alone, however, rarely carries a fighter through an entire professional career. As opponents become more experienced, the ability to box at different ranges, defend, manage pace and make adjustments becomes increasingly important.

Those are areas Alpough will have opportunities to develop as his level of competition increases.

Taking a Different Route Through Team Boxing League

Alpough has also gained additional ring experience through Team Boxing League, competing for the Houston Hitmen during the 2026 season.

TBL differs significantly from conventional professional boxing. Fighters compete in individual one-round matchups as part of an overall team competition, making every round a short, high-pressure battle.

That format can provide a young boxer with valuable experience because there is little time to settle into a fight. Fighters must establish their jab, distance and offensive rhythm almost immediately.

Alpough participated in several TBL rounds during the 2026 season. TBL’s statistical database listed him with a 2-3 league record through April 18, including victories over Frency Fortunato Saya and Malik Lark.

Importantly, those TBL statistics are tracked separately from his conventional professional record.

Against Lark on April 18 in Garland, Texas, official Texas commission results show Alpough earning a one-round decision with all three judges scoring the round 10-8 for him.

For a developing fighter, participating in both traditional bouts and TBL competition gives Alpough exposure to two very different environments.

Traditional boxing requires patience and the ability to construct a fight over multiple rounds. Team Boxing League emphasizes immediate execution.

Learning from both could benefit Alpough as his professional career progresses.

Fighting Alongside His Brother

Jaedyn’s career is closely connected to his older brother, Tayvien Alpough, who has also emerged from Port Arthur’s boxing scene.

Both brothers are managed by Eruption Boxing & MMA Management, and both have ambitions of reaching championship level.

But Jaedyn is not simply trying to duplicate his brother’s career.

Tayvien competes in boxing’s lighter divisions around 108–112 pounds, while Jaedyn competes around 130–135. That creates two distinct paths even though much of their training journey is shared.

The brothers also support one another during fights without serving as official cornermen. Jaedyn has admitted that watching his brother compete can make him nervous, something Tayvien has said about watching Jaedyn as well.

Behind the competition is clearly a family connection.

The two train together, drill together and share many of the same daily routines. Jaedyn described his training schedule as essentially identical to Tayvien’s, including shadowboxing, pad work and drills with their brothers.

Learning From Mayweather, Haney and Bivol

Every developing boxer studies fighters who demonstrate attributes they would like to incorporate into their own game.

For Alpough, one name stands above the rest historically: Floyd Mayweather Jr.

When FightMatrix asked him to identify the greatest boxer of all time, Alpough selected Mayweather and pointed to his accomplishments.

Among active fighters, Alpough mentioned Devin Haney and Dmitry Bivol, specifically pointing to their skills, technique and work ethic.

Those choices are revealing.

All three fighters have been recognized for elements beyond raw punching power—including distance management, defense, technique and disciplined approaches to competition.

For a young boxer who already demonstrated finishing ability in his professional debut, developing those additional dimensions will be important.

Discipline and Family Provide the Motivation

Alpough’s goals extend beyond accumulating victories.

When asked why he wanted to become a professional boxer, his answer centered on providing for himself and his family.

He also identified discipline as one of the most important qualities boxing has given him.

That discipline will become increasingly important as his career develops. Professional boxing can require years of training, smaller regional shows and gradual progression before championship opportunities appear.

Alpough already understands where he ultimately wants the journey to lead.

His stated long-term goal is straightforward: become a world champion.

More Than Boxing

There is another side to Alpough away from the ring.

Like his brother, he has developed an interest in gaming and esports. He has talked about playing titles including Grand Theft Auto and Undisputed, while his Team Boxing League profile also lists gaming among his primary hobbies.

Alpough has expressed interest in livestreaming gaming content as he builds his boxing career.

That could become increasingly valuable for a young professional fighter.

Modern boxers are not only athletes. Building an audience through social media, streaming and other platforms can help fighters establish an identity before they reach major televised events.

Alpough has an opportunity to grow both sides of that platform simultaneously.

The Next Stage for Jaedyn Alpough

There is still a long road between being a promising young professional and competing for major championships.

That is precisely what makes this stage of Jaedyn Alpough’s career interesting.

He has already spent most of his life inside boxing gyms. He has roughly 50 amateur fights behind him, a knockout victory in his conventional professional debut and additional competitive rounds through Team Boxing League.

He also has something many prospects do not: a brother traveling through professional boxing alongside him.

The challenge now is development.

More fights will bring tougher opponents. Tougher opponents will test Alpough’s defense, conditioning, ring intelligence and ability to respond when a fight does not go according to plan.

For Alpough, however, the ultimate destination has already been established.

He wants to become a world champion.

From beginning boxing at five years old in Port Arthur to entering the professional ranks with a knockout victory, Jaedyn Alpough has already devoted most of his life to the sport. Now he has the opportunity to show just how far that foundation can take him.
