Still, he followed that performance by losing a dull 12-round decision to Joshua as he wasted any chance to keep his title before the fight started. Since he has struggled with a washed-up Chris Arreola. On the bright side, he seems to be training and in shape, but it is really hard to trust Ruiz enough to bet money on him.

Ortiz is a former two-time WBC world heavyweight title challenger and the former WBA interim world titleholder(Which means nothing). His only losses as a pro came to former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.
It’s understandable to see Ruiz as a favorite here, but Ortiz is nowhere near the underdog that oddsmakers see him as here. This is a perception of Luis Ortiz that fans and pundits share coming into this fight. Ortiz is probably close to fifty years old, and his best win was a knockout years ago against Bryant Jennings. He does not deserve an opportunity for a big fight since his only real accomplishments were getting knocked out by a limited Deontay Wilder. The odds seem off to me, not because I respect Ortiz, it’s more because I think Andy Ruiz is so hit-and-miss that I don’t trust him. Ortiz is technically solid but age is catching up to him quickly.
