Below we have taken a detailed look at the legal age for gambling in Maryland for all different forms. From online sports betting to retail casinos and the lottery, we’ve covered it all.
Sports betting
Retail and online sports betting are both legal in Maryland for persons aged 21 and older. Both forms of sports betting were approved at the ballot in November 2020. Retail sports wagering was launched in December 2021, while online betting went live in November 2022.
Casinos
There are six legal retail casinos in Maryland that permit players aged 21 and older. However,

remain illegal for everyone in the state, regardless of age.
